All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

I have called our local SSA office 3 times to see if they were open and if i could come in to receive my back pay SS owed me. They keep telling me that they are closed because of Covid, and only handling certain cases, but not cases like mine.
I called another office further away with no results, just saying to call the office that i called 3 times before.
I have asked other people who work for ssa but they don’t know anything either.
I just need some assistance other than online. I am at a loss. I don’t know what to do anymore.

    Dick
