Hello, my daughter father receives Supplemental Security Income each month. Can she draw/ receive a check with him on SSI?

    • Vonda V.

Hi Chayla, thanks for your question. People who receive Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability insurance benefits, who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019, and who have qualifying children under age 17 and those receiving SSI who have qualifying children under age 17 should go to the IRS’s webpage to enter your information instead of waiting for your automatic $1,200 Economic Impact Payment. By taking proactive steps to enter information on the IRS website about you and your qualifying children, you will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to your $1,200 individual payment.

I have just completed my SS application online. Now I must mail in a copy of my W2. My local office is closed due to the pandemic. However, will the local office still receive and process my W2? Or must I send my W2 to another address?

    • Vonda V.

Hi John, thank you for your question. The office that is processing your application is the office that needs your documents. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. To inquire on the proper address, please call us at 1-800-772-1213 or you can contact your local Social Security office. Please look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information. Please be aware that our call wait times are longer than normal. We hope this information helps.

PHILIP MALMES: per NJ landlord/tenant law, you are entitled to a “grace period” of about 5 days, meaning your landlord cannot charge you late fees during this time. search NJ landlord/tenant law and you’ll find this. if your landlord refuses to comply, you are also entitled to a free lawyer/council for housing in your county. find the law, send it to your landlord, and see what happens. but, i suggest finding that free lawyer ASAP. i can’t reply to your post, idk why

    Hello,
After filling out some of the Medicare Part B enrollment application, it says to call social security. Every time I call I get the message that only extreme cases are being responded to via phone calls.
I was going to send my application via mail to my nearest SS office, but the Grand Junction office is listed as closed. Where should I send it. I am signed up for Plan B supplemental insurance to start May 1, but I can’t use it until my Medicare card states Plan A and Plan B.
I am hoping for assistance on this.
    Thank you,
    Margaret
