I have not been able to access my account online since I retired and moved to the Philippines. Every time I try to go online, it tells me that I will be receiving a reset code. Unfortunately, the code keeps getting mailed to my former address in the states but is not forwarded to me. How in the world can I change my address online if I can’t have access to it because I cannot get the code?

Your Retirement benefit application is currently processing. why is it taking so long?
A.C.
Hi, Pam. Thanks for your question. The length of time it takes to process the application for payment, can vary depending on whether we need to verify documents or other personal information. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day. You can also contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

My aunt has been receiving SSI and disability for years. Does she have to reapply when she turns 65 years old? Does she have to do anything when she turns 65?
A.C.
Hi, Terri. Thanks for your question. When your aunt reaches full retirement age, we will automatically convert her Social Security disability benefits to retirement benefits, but the benefit amount remains the same. Therefore, she doesn’t have to do anything. If she is not already entitled to Medicare, she should contact us about three months before her 65th birthday to discuss Medicare. We hope this helps.
