The birthday is incorrect on my grandmothers account How do I correct that with out dragging a 96 year old out in the winter.
L.A.
Hi Lora. To make any changes to your grandmother’s Social Security number record, please complete the form SS-5 for a replacement Social Security card, following the instruction shown online. We will need proof of the change, as shown on the online page. Once you have completed the form and gather the necessary evidence for the change, please have your grandmother sign the form (you cannot sign it), and mail or take the documents to your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

I am 65 years old this month and I am working and I want to apply for benefits based on my 68 years old spouse’s social security. I plan to delay my social security benefits from 66 to 70 years old. Where to apply? Any restrictions I am not aware?

Hi Gabriela. Thank you for your question. Please note that since you are receiving Social Security retirement benefits under your own record, we pay that amount first. If you also qualify for a higher amount as a spouse, you will get a combination of benefits that equals that higher amount. Please visit our Retirement Planner: Benefits For You As A Spouse for more information. For specific questions, please call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day. We hope this helps.

I would like to cancel the process of applying for Disability Insurance. I may have another job opportunity
and will be sure they are aware of my conditions. I so very much want to work and contribute to a better tomorrow.
I will continue to collect the Social Security early, and put that away wisely as soon as I have cleared up all debts. I hope to a mass enough funds to make life comfortable for a long, healthy, active life!
