    I am having trouble opening my SSA account. I must have created it when I had a different email account. that email account is no longer available so when I try to long in and ask for help remembering my account it won’t recognize me. It has now logged me out for 24 hours.

      Hi Susan, thank you for using our blog to ask your question. You do not need an activation code to create a my Social Security, you just click on “Create an Account“. Individuals that have issues creating a my Social Security account may need to go into their local Social Security office for assistance. A representative in the office will verify the individual’s identity and issue them a letter containing an activation code. They then use the activation code to complete the creation of their my Social Security account.
