    I had an incorrect email address connected to my account. I asked for and received a reset code. I can not find where I need to input the reset code. How can I use the reset code?

    Received reset code in mail. Where EXACTLY do i enter that? It does not work in “password” field or “Activation” field. Written directions are to go to http://www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount and enter code. I see no other places at this address to enter a reset code.

    I cannot re-set my password this site should terminated it is worthless, embarrassed to have a site up that cannot help anyone.

    I forgot my password.
    I requested reset code. I got the letter. I went to socialsecurity.gov/myaccount as per terse instructions. The interface does not ask for a reset code. It asks for a password to log in.
    Am I supposed to create a new account?

    I’m stuck, I cannot find out how to change my email address, therefore the sign in code you’re sending is not getting to me. I found a video that was supposed to give me info on it, but the video isn’t working, I thought this was supposed to be quick & easy. Please help!

    I am a United States citizen now living in Jamaica. I have a ‘My Social Security’ Account but since I moved to Jamaica I cannot access my account on line. Is there some restrictions that will not allow me to access my account? I cannot update my account or see what changes are made to my account by SSA

      Hi Rudolph, thank you for your question. At this time you must have a U. S. mailing address to create or access your online account. The “my Social Security” authentication system requires address verification as one of the essential criteria for issuing an account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet.

      Even though you are unable to create a my Social Security account, you may still file your application online. You can apply online for retirement benefits if you:
      •are at least 61 years and 9 months old;
      •are not currently receiving benefits on your own Social Security record;
      •have not already applied for retirement benefits; and
      •want your benefits to start no more than 4 months in the future. (We cannot process your application if you apply for benefits more than 4 months in advance.)

      We recommend that individuals living outside the United States contact the nearest Federal Benefit Unit or U.S. embassy in the area for any assistance related to Social Security programs and benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad.

      Hi Roberta, thank you for using our blog to ask your question. It sounds like you have been given an activation code. When you go to http://www.ssa.gov/myaccount, select “Finish Setting Up Your Account” where you will enter the information requested, including the account activation code.
