Appeal Your Non-Medical Decisions Online

You no longer need to visit our offices or call us to appeal a denial or adverse action related to your benefits. Beginning December 10, 2016, you can file an appeal online for non-medical issues, even if you live outside the United States. Examples of non-medical appeals include those for overpayments and Medicare premium rates.

The online appeals application is simple, convenient, and secure; it guides you through every step of the process. From outlining your rights to an appeal, to publications on the appeals process, a fair review of your case is right at your fingertips. The online application also lets you upload supporting documentation and save your submission.

Submitting your appeal and necessary documents online will save time and can help expedite the decision. Here are some things you’ll need when you’re ready to submit an appeal:

  • Notice date or receipt from Social Security that explains what adverse action you wish to appeal; and
  • Supporting documentation you wish to add to your request for appeal.

    I have been exempt from Federal taxes since I retired 13 year ago as my income was too low according to my accountant. My wife passed away May. 2019. I have since moved back to Australia & am looking to buy a house. my main income is still still myAmerican Social Security. I do receive an Australian Pension but it is a pittance for the 30 years I worked & paid here before going to the USA. If I missed out on filling out any exempt forms Please e’mail them to me. thanks

    I would like to have my monthly disability payments reviewed. I’m being garnishment monthly, to whom I don’t know. I’ve been payed 750.00 mostly from day one of my claim. I would like to have this matter look into. Please!! Thank you

    I do not use my medicare prescription drug plan and elected not to have it but it is showing on my benefit payments each month deducting $30.50, Can you please remove from my monthly deductions?

    Hello,
    I received your notification regarding a l.6% increase in social security benefits. You state my new amount to be $277.00, That amount is what I have been previously getting. No increase is noted.

    I do not have nor use the Medicare Prescription plan. The amount of $57.30 monthly should NOT be deducted from my monthly stipend. I have alternative insurance for pharmaceuticals.

    I received a letter stating that state SS would no longer deduct money for my MCR prescription drug plan cost from my monthly benefits. ( Dec. 11,2019)
    The. I received my New Benefit Amount and it stated that $59.50 would be deducted per month. Per Humana, my prescriptions should not cost me anything. Please check this for me.

    Please do not send benefit to Dale Birley. He passed away on Sept. 28, 2019. I emailed to SSA in early October, but you still sent Dale benefits and I returned 548 dollars in US on Nov. 18th to Minot ND office. You still sent Dale the benefits on Dec. 3rd. I sent a copy of Dale’s Proof of Death to Minot, N.D. office in November and I just got the copy of Dale’s Proof of Death last week saying it has been taken care. Yesterday I got a letter from you that Dale will get his new benefit staring in the new year. I found this very frustrating and I would appreciate it if you could fix it right away.

    I got my new benefit amount document and the deductions seem to be wrong. My part B shows 209.00 and I think it should be the same as my husband’s at 144.60. We are both on Kaiser Senior Advantage and have prescription drugs included in the plan. The Benefit doc shows a deduction of 27.60 for prescriptions, I think it should be 0.00 like my husbands. Please reply.
