Appeal Your Non-Medical Decisions Online

You no longer need to visit our offices or call us to appeal a denial or adverse action related to your benefits. Beginning December 10, 2016, you can file an appeal online for non-medical issues, even if you live outside the United States. Examples of non-medical appeals include those for overpayments and Medicare premium rates.

The online appeals application is simple, convenient, and secure; it guides you through every step of the process. From outlining your rights to an appeal, to publications on the appeals process, a fair review of your case is right at your fingertips. The online application also lets you upload supporting documentation and save your submission.

Submitting your appeal and necessary documents online will save time and can help expedite the decision. Here are some things you’ll need when you’re ready to submit an appeal:

  • Notice date or receipt from Social Security that explains what adverse action you wish to appeal; and
  • Supporting documentation you wish to add to your request for appeal.

    On “your new benefit amount” for 2020 the amount of $57.70 for my Medicare Prescription Drug Plan is incorrect. It should be $13.20 per Humana confirmation #103081974.

    on my “new benefit amount” received in the mail, the amt. deducted for my medicare prescription drug plan is inaccurate. i contacted excellus advantage plan office to verify. i signed up for blue essential at $0 premium.

    Is it possible to change my Federal Tax withholding amount online?

      Hi, Charles. At this time there is not a way to change your federal tax withholding online. In order to have taxes withheld or to change the withholding amount from your Social Security benefit, you must start by printing, completing and submitting an IRS Voluntary Withholding Request Form (Form W-4V). On this form, you can choose to have 7, 10, 12, or 22 percent of your monthly benefit withheld. The Form W-4V (to withhold federal taxes from your Social Security benefits) can be returned to your local Social Security office by mail or in person.     I retired from work two years ago. The reason I requested volunteer withdrawal of federal tax. But I requested last year to stop withdrawal of money .     My Part D has changed from a monthly cost of $58.70 to $13,20. I have my monthly social security set to deduct the higher amount and it needs to be changed to $13.20. My 2020 Plan is $13.20 per month and is still with Humana.
