I received a letter stating that my monthly benefit would be $0 beginning October 2018. It also states from January 2018 to September 2018 my monthly benefit $2,624.00.
    I’m really confused.
I would appreciate talking to a real person in lieu of the automated machine. I am hearing impaired.
    Thanks,
    C Dildy 817/992 5967

    • Ann C.

Hi, Milt. It sounds like you are referring to the SSA-1009, tax form Social Security mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. For years prior to the last year, you can call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to speak to one of our representatives for assistance. I’d like to know why our estimated SS benefits no longer come every year in a statement. I get tired of logging on to everything.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Elizabeth. Thanks for your question. It sounds like you are referring to the SSA-1099, tax form Social Security mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. The SSA-1099 is mailed by January 31 each year. If for any reason you do not receive your SSA-1099 in the mail by then, starting on February 1, 2020, you can request a replacement SSA-1099/1042S for Tax Year 2019 by visiting your personal my Social Security account. We hope this helps.

Received msg: suspended electronic access to your personal information. Called 800# – on hold for one hour and 15 min. and then “Ed” terminated my call — said he could not hear me.

I need a copy of my 2019 awards letter — why is this so difficult?

    • Ann C.

Hi. We are sorry to hear about your experience. If you still need assistance, please contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.
