I have been unable to login to my account all morning. The connection times-out every time. I tried calling the 800 number. 15-minute wait times, followed by a disconnect before speaking to anyone. Social Security is broken, as anyone who has had to deal with it lately knows. All I want is my earnings/benefits statement. Why is this so hard?

    • Ray F.

I tried setting up a MySocialSecurity account and it failed. Said my SS number I provided did not match their what was on SSA’s files. Called SSA and everything was correct. So tried again and now I’m permanently blocked from ever using the MySocialSecurity web site.

Called back SSA and was told they can’t help me. Now because I can not get copies of my SSA benefits to show proof of income, I lost two interviews for an apartment that require proof on income.

Thanks a lot SSA, another person becomes homeless now.

I’m really loving the theme/design of your web site. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A small number of my blog readers have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you have any advice to help fix this issue?

I opened up a blogspot website and when I closed it 15 or so new windows opened back up to the same site. Why did that happen? Was it a virus?. Will it hurt my computer? How do I find it and get rid of it? I am running 2 virus scans right now but if those do not find it, how do I find it?.

Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

Great site you have here but I was curious if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics talked about here? I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get feedback from other experienced individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Appreciate it!

Apparently there is still no way for Us citizens living abroad to create an online Social Security account – touted by Social Security as the best means of contact. As others have noted, the Social Security Administration must obviously work in conjunction with the IRS, and have access to our official address, whether it is in the US or abroad.

It does not seem reasonable that this problem continues.

    • Ray F.

Hi Ben, we apologize for the inconvenience. The “my Social Security” authentication system requires address verification as one of the essential criteria for issuing an account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet. Under current law, we are required to periodically verify if individuals living outside the United States are still eligible for Social Security benefits. Remember for any assistance related to your Social Security benefits, please contact your local U.S. embassy or consulate. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this information helps.
