I have lived in the Philippines for more than a year and have tried to have the ssa unit in the US embassy in Manila to update my addess with the SSA in the US. but they have not. I have emailed them starting July 2018 but as of this writing Jan 18 2019 my address has not been changed from my US address to my Philippine address. Can you suggess what I should do? Walter

can i get a copy of ssa 1099 form
A.C.
Thanks for your question, Arthur. The SSA-1099 is mailed by January 31 each year. If for any reason you do not receive your SSA-1099 in the mail by then, starting on February 1, 2019, you can request a replacement SSA-1099/1042S for Tax Year 2018 by using your personal my Social Security account. Thanks.

Need help to file online form SSA-7162-OCR.SM

Hi, Joseph. The SSA-7162 is not available to submit online. You can submit your completed form to your local Federal Benefits Unit if you are living outside of the U.S. Thanks.

I receive widows benefits when I turned 66, but someone fraudulently claimed MY benefit using my social security number. I reported it as soon as I received the letter saying they sent money to a claim made online in my name. Now for the past 8 months my Medicare B benefit (which I pay out of my widows benefit )is blocked since my own Medicare number was being used by the fraud perpetrator. How can I resolve this? I take time off work to go to my local office but they say it’s in a processing center and they can’t help me get my Medicare back until the fraud is resolved. I need help – I can’t go to the doctor for months. Any advice?

I live overseas and moved. I believe my 7162 form, that I get every 6 months, was returned by the post office.
Very difficult to find, download, and send to Maryland… Why so difficult???
Can this simple task be done?

Hi Jeffrey. Under current law, we are required to periodically verify if individuals living outside the United Sates are still eligible for Social Security benefits.
The Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire (Form SSA-7162) is the primary measure for maintaining the benefit payments to beneficiaries residing outside the United States. It is generated automatically and mailed to beneficiaries annually or biannually depending upon the countries in which they reside.
We recommend that individuals living outside the United States contact the nearest Federal Benefit Unit or U.S. embassy in the area for any assistance related to Social Security programs and benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad.
