I have had Medicare A (Hospital Only since April 1997 yet when I spent 4 days (November 27- 30) this option was denied saying I had a plan (???) which has been cancelled in 2003! All I have is the VA and Kaiser! Request this item be rectified and that San Joaquin receive whatever they are entitled to for that hospitalization! Also, on the 18th I will be admitted for a hernia operation. San Joaquin said to get this situation cleared up or I will have to remit additional co pays! At 86 I cannot afford this. If need be, I will file a complaint with my congressman, Mr. Valadao.

I have tried to create an account , but I live in Mexico and have been told that they will not accept my application

    • R.F.

Hello Donald. The “my Social Security” authentication system requires address verification as one of the essential criteria for issuing an account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet.
You will need a U.S. address to register and create a my Social Security account, but you do not need a U.S. address to file online for benefits.
We recommend that individuals living outside the United States contact their local U.S. embassy or consulate for any assistance related to Social Security programs and benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this helps!

I tried to set up an account. But all the questions asked to verify my identity were not relevant to my personal info. Not the right questions and offered responses. I think you mis-identified me. And now I’m locked out. What recourse to a reedy do I have?

The same thing happened to me multiple times. I don’t have a mortgage and never have. I don’t have a car loan/lease and never have. I’ve never lived on any of the streets it asks about or had any of the phone numbers it lists. None of the questions ever apply to me and when I check None Of The Above bubbles for everything – answering truthfully! – I get locked out and suspended. Calling DOES NOT WORK so, Ray, please offer better advice.

I was trying to create an social Security account – your system said i could not create an acct.

Who do I call or schedule an appointment with?

  10. Ingeborg M.

My husband and I have been trying, without success, to create a personal Social Security Account for me. I am presently drawing Social Security benefits based solely on my husband’s earnings. When I apply I for an account, I get a series of question pertaining to mortgage payments and other financial encumbrances which do not apply to me. My husband and I own our home outright and we have no financial debt other than a credit card account which we pay off every month. I keep getting a statement saying that the SS Administration has no record of me although I have been receiving SS benefits for more than 10 years, Help!!
