    Hi, can you help please
I have attempted to set up My SSN account 2 days in row and every time I try to create an account the Error code comes up for the username and passwords. I have tried 2 different browsers. I was kicked of the website yesterday for too many attempts.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I have been trying to get onto my account. I had two letters with a code to change my password sent to me by mail. I tried both of them. Neither one of the codes would work.
I am on disability and I took out short and long time disability with the company I was working for. Not knowing I was sick at the time I took the policy out. I guess the good Lord was taking care of me.The check would be considered a third party check.
I have a company that I worked for 2006 or 2007 asking that I send them a up to dated benefit verification letter. I have a deadline that it would need to be there by. Is there anyway I might be able to get that letter as well a new password that works.
I would certainly appreciate any help.
    Best Regards

This does not answer the question…Where do I put a reset code?

Instructions in the reset letter I received are very unclear. Someone really needs to match instructions to the website and save us all a lot of time.

    Thank you.

    • Vonda V.

Hi Rosemary, thank you for using our blog. When you sign in to your my Social Security account with your username and password, it will then ask if you received a reset letter. You select “Yes, let’s begin” . The reset code is issued when you need to change the second factor authentication method associated with your information.

If you forgot your password, and the password reset questions didn’t work, we can send a temporary password in some circumstances. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details on how to retrieve or change your username or password. We hope this helps.

How do I get My Social Security account unlocked. I typed in the password wrong to many times.

  10. Robert F.

I created an online account and was able to edit my profile for an address change. My wife created an account also, but there is no Profile tab on the overview page. How can she edit her profile?

    • Vonda V.

Hi Robert, thank you for using our blog. Only Social Security beneficiaries or SSI recipients will have the “My Profile” tab, which displays the individual’s name, date of birth, last four digits of the Social Security Number, contact information, and direct deposit information from our records. We hope this helps.
