I pressed on the link for information on divorce and if I was entitled to his work record, it only opened another tab! When in the office year’s ago they told me I couldn’t receive his benefit amount because he was receiving SSI? Don’t know if it’s correct but I do know he’s receiving it fraudulently because he’s driving a taxi and making over 1,200 a week and living with his sister he’s had many lawsuits that he signed over to his sister the reason I’ve done nothing is I’m not sure if I remember his social security number and I’m afraid of him also!

Hi Debbie. If you suspect fraud, waste or abuse of Social Security benefits, we encourage you to report it. Thanks.

I have not received my w2’s in order to fike my taxes. how do i get them sent to me?

    • Ray F.

Hi Lea! For a copy of a W-2, you should contact your employer’s human resource or personnel office. If you are referring to the Form SSA-1099 showing the amount of benefits paid to SSA beneficiaries during last year, you can request a replacement SSA-1099 for Tax Year 2017, by using your personal my Social Security account.
      We hope this helps !

if i follow all the prompts and fill in all the answers, why in the world can’t i create an account, and how the hell do I get help if SSA will not take my calls. if this is my tax dollars at work, one of you is overpaid.

If you are unable to create an account or encounter a problem with your my Social Security account, you may:
•Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; or
•Contact your local Social Security office.

I have seen the message many times to open a “my account” online to deal with all sorts of things having to do with my Social Security.

Because I am a U.S. citizen living in Canada, this option is unfortunately not available to me (very disappointing).

Will this ever change or will I be forever “banned” from opening an account online?
Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure there are thousands of us in this situation.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, Elizabeth. The “my Social Security” authentication system requires address verification as one of the essential criteria for issuing an account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet. For assistance related to your Social Security benefits, please contact your local U.S. embassy or consulate. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad.
In your case, you can also use the Canadian Service Area Directory to determine which Resident Office is near you. Thank you for your feedback!

may i have procedures to open s.s. accounts and what bank are recommended in Baguio, Philippines.
what forms to have my monthly send to a different bank? For some banks – must keep high $ 200.00 balance to maintain etc. pls. help.
    thank you.

    • Ray F.

Hello Floyd. If you live outside the United States you can choose to receive your Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (RSDI) benefits electronically. To receive benefits electronically, you must live in a country where we can send benefits. Special rules apply if you are in a country where we cannot send payments.
If you live outside the United States, in a country where we can send payments, you can use direct deposit to a:
      •U.S. financial institution; or
•Financial institution in any country that has an international direct deposit agreement.
To find out which countries qualify, go to “Your Payments While You Are Outside The United States“. Thanks!

I have sole custody of my now almost 7 yr old nephew since he was 5 months old. No relationship or contact with birth mother since & she has no idea who his father is. Can my nephew receive benefits on my account, I’m retired? If I pass prior to him being an adult, can he receive benefits with an assigned payee to look out for his best interest?

IMHO does not work. Tried several times. No code sent; only message that ” someone” had requested my username. Tried again and again. Am I dumb? I am old
