All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

this is what I found online concerning payment if we would be getting it or not for SSI disability or anything coming out of SSI please read below

The package is just a proposal, many of the details are undecided, and any plan would need to be passed by Congress. Included in the proposed package were:
$500 billion in direct payments, including a more than $1000 payment to all U.S. adults, excluding millionaires and billionaires
$50 billion in bailouts for the airline industry
Upwards of $500 billion for small businesses and other expenditure

really if you think about it he is targeting middle-class and lower-income people which includes people like us that are on social security disability social security retirement we will be getting the check I’m fairly sure of that. I hope this eases some people’s minds we will all get through this I also read another report stating that next month or the following month it could be as much as $2,000 that everybody gets if you need me to post that on here I can do that as well.

I keep being told that if you receive SSI you would NOT be getting the stimulus check because the SSI checks are not stopping. The stimulus check is only for people that have lost their jobs or are on unemployment. This could be wrong tho (hoping)

        It’s just not right

        • Lildarlin

Ann,Cash payments of up to $1,200 would go to individuals, with up to $2,400 for couples. The sum would increase by $500 for every child. The check totals would start to phase out above $75,000 in adjusted gross income based on 2018 tax returns. People with no federal tax liability would get only $600.

      • Arnie

Because SSI checks are not stopping? either is SS so they wouldn’t get it?

I was told every American will receive… I’m guessing the ones on disability is included as well

    • Amanda P.

No this is what Nancy and AOC were proposing. Trump said people that pay into taxes and under 75000 gross will get checks. Not to mention there isn’t anything set in stone yet so nobody knows. they aren’t going to give homeless people stimulus checks because most of them are drug addicts and it wouldn’t stimulate the economy because they wouldn’t be going to businesses they be going to the streets with their money. And any other time there’s been a stimulus check paid out, people on SSD and SSI got stimulus checks. If Obama did it Trump will surely do it(I assume)but not every American should get a check that will leave it open for illegals to get one too and that should never happen. Drug addicts like I said shouldn’t get checks either

i guess im not going to ask and get yelled at by people

  4. Victoria

What if you don’t have an address?? Only direct depost, hopefully no check in the m mail but direct depost, I have no money am homeless and live on SSDI, I have no home, no address, no mail thank you

I am on social security still working will I receive the stimulus check ?

  6. James M.

As of 10:15 PM EST. The announcement was that no one receiving SSI would be getting a stimulus check and very few SS would be getting them because those Monies would not stop. The people we need to take care of are the ones who recently lost their jobs or signed up for unemployment due to the Coronavirus.
    Thanks, James Mann. SSIDEPTH.

That stinks because I’m over here paying jacked up prices for food, having to go all over town to find food,we are the people who need the help too! I get $780 a freaking month. We’re the ones they want to die obviously.

let me see $ trillion went to PORK…like money to Congress. We make $10,000 a year…… some can make up to $75,000….. they can draw unemployment…..which now adds $600 a WEEK….. plus get a check. And thats a fair distribution or OUR money? Seems the poor are being left out AGAIN.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Tony. We are sorry to hear about your wife’s condition. For your wife’s security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. She can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, she will have a shorter wait if she calls later in the day. She can also contact her local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

I’m guessing since s/s hasn’t answered ? in regards to beneficiary receiving $1000 check for coronavirus, they don’t know yet. Geeze people give it a day, it was just announced. I’m assuming all the details as to who receives a check hasn’t been released. I don’t know if I’ll receive for my child support since my boys dad isn’t working due to employer closing. If he’s not paid then child support isn’t either. I’ll have to give it time to see what plan is for children that receive support & it effecting them also due to virus, employers closing. I would hope they do remember the children who’s parent relies on child support & the domino effect of absent parent not working. I think it’s to soon for answers to all these ?’s except it was clear it won’t effect the date your paid s/s if you have direct deposit. If paid by mail I guess it depends on USPS delivery of mail.

Being the elderly are the most affected I would think they would receive extra assistance. Makes sense to me. 🙂

I cant seam to get a straight answer either if we will get the 1000 check if we are on dissability. My monthly check barely gets me through the month now its depleted fo to this virus. Buying extra hygiene items food and cleaning supplies. Please dont forgett about us.

I’m on disability myself, I would be surprised if we get the $1000.00 I’m thinking it’s for the workers who will have no income. Our income remains the same, granted yes we are probably buying more Clorox and wipes than usual, but would that warrant an extra $1000? Don’t get me wrong I would love to receive, but that’s my thinking….
