All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

  2. Deb

Will SSA and SSI recipients receive the $1000 stimulus money? I receive SSA only and do not file taxes

    • James A.

SSA recipients are covered. There are not currently any provisions for SSI recipients in the bill.

Will people on Social Security disability receive a stimulus check due to the Coronavirus?

All I see is the same question asked over and over again they all have the same response.
Now to my knowledge I have to same question that has already been asked and answered I am not going to ask the same question again.
There is NO need for anybody to be rude. It’s all common sense. Just saying…

I receive a Social Security Disability monthly check so Will people on Social Security disability receive a stimulus check due to the Coronavirus?

    • Gia

Have some people already receive stimulus checks? Or have they went out yet?

  7. My N.

Funny how no one is getting an answer about us on SSI getting the $1,000 that they’re talking about. Almost like they’re completely avoiding those that are asking about it on purpose.

Considering we make less than a part time
McDonald’s employee, we should be the very first people to receive the help.

After I pay my rent, utilitie bills and car insurance, I have to rely on hangouts from churches just to feed myself.

    • Kay

Probably because The plan hasn’t been totally prepared yet. No set package, no set answer. The last 2 stimulas checks did include SS recipients but I believe there was an income restriction.

When Government stated today 3-17-2020 that ALL Americans will be receiving checks for $1000.00 each of us.
Does this include Seniors on Social Security?
The President or State Treasurer did not include us Seniors on Social Security too?

We need our money for food rent and medications.

    Thank you

    • tomas

All seniors on Social Security and disabled veterans will receive a $1000 corona-virus stimulus check.

      • Gary

Under these circumstances I would be grateful for any help I can get.1000 is not a lot of money, but it sure will be helpful..thank you for thinking of us who live s.s.Obviously President Trump is not afraid to give away money because he is for it.Along with many others who are thinking about us.I am sure we won’t be left out.God Bless America.,and the Many who proposed this!

    Dear SSA ,

It seems the Federal government is bailing out Stock Market, Businesses, workers, and state employees across the board with paid leave, 3 months FMLA, and cash benefits!

WHAT ABOUT US POOR LOW INCOME SSA RSDA OR SSI BENEFICIARIES ?

As it is we live frugally , on fixed income and fixed budget ! I did not have enough funds from check for hygiene, health, sanitizing and disinfectant products, let alone toilet paper or Food!

Please Mr.Trump Do not forget us Us and allow a raise on out monthly benefits!

    Signed – ” the forgotten “

    • Tantanissa R.

Is we get the 1000 or what He say everyone will get it or family not people who get SSI check so will be get or what

      • James M.

As of 10:15 PM EST. The announcement was that no one receiving SSI would be getting a stimulus check and very few SS would be getting them because those Monies would not stop. The people we need to take care of are the ones who recently lost their jobs or signed up for unemployment due to the Coronavirus.
        Thanks, James Mann. SSIDEPTH.

        • Rutan

Ur full of shit nothing like that was posted or even ssid

      • Hippichic357

People like you who can’t speak English and are probably ILLEGAL will NOT get anything, so get lost you mooch!

      • Kim B.

You won’t get it because you can’t even speak English and you’re probably ILLEGAL, so get lost loser!

  10. Lynette M.

Will I be getting the $1000?

    • Tina

I sure hope so. Poor older people and SSI,everyone knows we barely make ends meet,to try to stock up two weeks to a month extra is never gonna happen for us

      • Linda E.

That’s the truth .We are the most in need of an extra infusion of cash . It seems like Every time there’s a bill to help Americans its always middle to high income people or families with children .I am single and live alone trying to get by on $783 a month .If we aren’t included , its a sign of a heartless , cruel government
