      Hi Diane, thank you for your question. We will send the 2018 SSA-1099 (Social Security Benefit Statement) in January showing the amount of benefits received in the prior calendar year. A worksheet (IRS Notice 703) is included for determining whether any portion of the Social Security benefits received are subject to income tax.

      Beginning February 1st, if you currently live in the United States and need a replacement form SSA-1099 or SSA-1042S, you can get an instant replacement quickly and easily by:

      •Using your online my Social Security account. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one online. Go to Sign In or Create an Account. Once you are logged in to your account, select the “Replacement Documents” tab;

      If you are unable to create an account or encounter a problem, you may call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk” or you can contact your local Social Security office.
