Update on Social Security Offices
Reading Time: 1 MinuteLast Updated: February 21, 2023
Earlier this week, The White House issued national guidance regarding Opening Up America Again. We are evaluating this information as it relates to our agency and are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation across the nation. In fulfilling Social Security’s mission, when we reopen offices to the public, we will provide a safe environment for both the people we serve and our employees.
As we continue to develop our plans, our offices will remain closed to the public for face-to-face service, and our employees will continue to work remotely and provide services to the public. We will provide updates moving forward and post updated information on the status of our offices, by state, at our website. Our agency will provide these updates directly, and please disregard other sources of information regarding the status of our offices.
We will continue to provide the vital service the public relies on. Please visit our website for more information about our services during the pandemic.

I ‘d like to know when will the social security office open for apply social security in person
Cesar Z.
It’s frustrating not been help, I’ve been trying to get my new social security card I need to get a job and I can’t because I don’t have my social number.
I need to make a face to face interview, you should be able to make the appointment by phone.
Thanks
Nancy
Other places can do video interviews or phone interviews. Why SS can’t do nothing and keep saying due to corona virus we can’t open offices? Funny thing is those people who working in SS office may go to protests, parties, etc… Too dangerous to work but fine to do other things.
Collect tax payers money and do nothing.
DMV is now open, courts are open, why not SSA?

I have been patiently waiting for the Social Security Office to open until I found this article online:
“Return to Office? How About Never, Social Security”
https://news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-report/return-to-office-how-about-never-social-security-union-says
Could you please explain to the rest of the citizens of this country this?

It restaurants are opening up there is no reason for the social security office to still be closed. A lot of people need to replace thier card for unemployment and other reasons .it’s time to open up
