Update on Economic Impact Payments for Social Security and SSI Beneficiaries

Beginning today, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will issue Economic Impact Payments (EIP) to approximately 1.4 million SSI recipients with representative payees and 10.4 million Social Security beneficiaries with representative payees.

The IRS will issue the EIPs via direct deposit and Direct Express starting today, May 22, to the same direct deposit account or Direct Express card as the recipient’s monthly Social Security or SSI payment. Paper check EIPs will be mailed starting May 27.

    My Son is 19 and on SSI and he still has not received his stimulus check!! It is bad enough they expect him to survive on his own on 700.00 a month and he still has not got a stimulus check which he is entitled too!!!!!
    SAD the way the disabled are treated!!!! Always left out!
    When is his stimulus coming it is the end of May !!!

      Did you claim your son on your taxes? If you claimed him as a dependent, he will not be eligible for a stimulus payment, and you aren’t eligible to receive the $500 dependent money either.
      If you didn’t claim him as a dependent, then he will eventually receive a payment, but they are doing it in waves, and he will have to wait.

    I receive SSA disability, filed bother 2018 and 2019 taxes and still no check?
    I qualify under the terms…

      They are scheduling payments every week. Keep checking the get my payment on IRS website.

    I filed my Income Tax Return for 2018, 2019. Starting 1986 I provide IRS with same Banc Routing and Acc Nr. I received check for $1200. Very inconvenient, banks are closed, I can not deposit the check. Can you please correct my Info in your records. My SS# xxx-xx-4412. Thank you.

    I also have a representative payee and haven’t received anything yet…. They said May 22, and here it’s now the 24th and still NOTHING

      Read the blog more carefully, it is starting May 22. Go find out the exact date from the IRS website “get my payment” tool. Don’t spread fake news.

        It’s now the 25th….. My Social Security account don’t even showing ” Pending”…. No deposit dates, I have no dependent and don’t file taxes…… Still Nothing

          It will show a status when your payment is scheduled. Keep checking back every day on the payment portal.

    My daughter used the Non-Filers to provide information for herself and 2 children. She did this at the end of April before May 1.
    She is SSI with dependents and direct deposit. She received her 1200 stimulus the first week of May but no child stimulus payment yet. She really needs this money and is depending on it.
    Can anyone please tell her why the children’s money has not arrived yet?
    It’s ridiculous she should have to wait till next year if she files a tax return. She has never filed a tax return in her life! She does not know how to do this and is intimidated and nervous at the thought of it
    Besides I want to reiterate that she did her Non Filers on time well before the May 5 deadline

      They claim there was a glitch with claimed dependent. They are working to resolve, but your daughter may have to wait until tax time to receive the money for her children in 2021.

    I’m on SSDI and my children also get direct deposit from my SSDI. YET I GOT 1200 and my kids didn’t get anything. What is wrong with this picture?

      Did you claim your children on the non filer portal? Children 16 and under are eligible for the $500 payment as long as you claimed them. If you didn’t, you will have to wait until 2021 and file a 2020 return to claim the child stimulus payments.

    why is there no status on ssdi payments? my boyfriend never got anything and he really needs this money as he is pretty emergency surgery without the surgery scheduled.
