Hello I have received two phone calls today that I think are a scam. Asking for my social security number.
800-813-3137 and 202-324-6421. The 202 being identified as from Washington DC.
I have blocked these numbers on my phone but others should be on the lookout.
I am on the do not call list.

Need federal taxes taken out my social security check

Why can’t citizens that draw SS benefits and live overseas update their address online? I live in Australia and with the time difference, sometimes it is difficult to make contact on the telephone. It would be so much more convenient if we could either do it online or send an email. Thanks!

Hi, Tara. We are sorry to hear about your loss. Typically, the funeral director notifies us of an individual’s passing by sending the deceased person’s death certificate to their local Social Security office. However, you may report the death of your father by submitting his death certificate to your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

I’ve been looking for the new 2020 Social Security Calendar like I had last year… It came in handy keeping up on when my SS payments are drafted into my bank account, plus I also used it to record when my alimony checks came by mail.
Will there be a 2020 calendar or not ??
Thanks for any info. I know I’m old school !!

    • Ann C.

Hi, Cindy. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day.
