I requested a social security replacement card on the 25th of January and still have not received it!!?? When can I expect???

    • Ann C.

Hi, Zinie. Thanks for your question. Typically, after we receive your application and verify your documents, you should receive your Social Security card by mail within 10 business days. To follow up on your application for a Social Security replacement card, you may have to return to the office where you filed your application. On your receipt there should be a local phone number for you to call and speak to someone about the status of your card. We hope this is resolved soon.

Were 1099 forms mailed in January 2020?
Still checking my mail. Feb 10.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Perry. Thanks for your question. The SSA-1099 is mailed by January 31 each year. If for any reason you have not received your SSA-1099 in the mail, you can request a replacement SSA-1099/1042S for Tax Year 2019 by visiting your personal my Social Security account. We hope this helps.

If I stopped working 22 years ago(1997), and therefore have only 38 credits on my behalf, for how long will you keep those credits or money/taxes safe and intact for my future disposition?

    • Ann C.

Hi, Miriam. Once you have earned credits, you keep them. You can create a personal my Social Security account to access your statement online. Your statement will let you know if you have enough credits for benefits, and if you don’t, it will tell you how many you need. With a personal my Social Security account, you can also review estimates of your retirement, disability, and survivors benefits, your earnings record, and the estimated Social Security and Medicare taxes you’ve paid. We hope this helps.
