Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

I have been receiving calls from 1-877-319-0729 saying my ss# has been compromised. The caller ID says the call is from the US GOVT.
I didn’t give any info to them & felt it was a phony call.

Today, June 19, 2019,I received 4 phone calls from the telephone number 310-984-6589. The first 3 calls left a voice message saying I should contact them immediately to avoid court proceedings. I ignored those calls and deleted them from my call list. The fourth came and I answered ready to tell them to stop calling. When I said hello, the woman said she was calling from the Social Security office (in a soft voice). I said oh are you the Social Security office there was no response, then she hung up. I immediately called the real SS office and was advised to contact your office.

Frederick Don Chevalier jr,,use to live with me at hwy 1178 hwy 438, Greenville, Ms,38702 at my brother’s house him and I haven’t been together in a year and is still receiving mail at my brother’s house, social security number.and claim number is *** – ** – ***, birthday is January 21 1985.hes been working getting paid under the table,and I don’t think it’s right.

Hi, Barbara. We take allegations of fraud very seriously. If you suspect fraud, waste or abuse of Social Security benefits, we encourage you to report it. When allegations of fraud are reported to our Office of the Inspector General, we conduct the required investigations. However, federal regulations prohibit the disclosure of information contained in law enforcement records, even to the individual making the allegation. We thank you for helping us fight fraud.

Today, I received 3 phone calls from a robo-caller, claiming to be from Social Security, telling me my SS No. has been suspended. Have caller ID so didn’t answer the 1st two times; the third time I called the # 830-264-6945, from Pleasanton, Tx. Person who answered phone had a foreign accent. I told him to stop calling me and that I was going to call Social Security. He began arguing with me and I hung up.

I have received 4 scam phone calls on my cell phone, stating they are from SSA, my card has been suspended due to suspicious activity, and to “push 1” or call them. SSA rep told me to notify you. Their phone #s are 510-112-7402, 7351, 7326 so far. I have not responded; just listened to their voice mail. They are disturbing me throughout this day, and who knows when it will end. Hope this helps you stop this scam!

I have had 2 calls in since yesterday from people claiming to be social security. Of course I am not giving them information. The one today was from people with Spanish accents. The number was (970) 744-5003 and says Loveland, CO. The other one was from (832) 481-6683 and it says Friendswood, TX. I called back and asked who they are and they hung up. This has really gotten out of hand. Just wanted you to know.

I keep getting phone calls from these 2 numbers 1-254-829-5139 and 1-202-665-6278 saying that my social security number is being in a fraud allegation so I am just reporting it cause I don’t believe it is true

I am receiving calls saying my social security number is compromised. I believe these are fraud calls. They are from Brooklyn NY,New York NY and Woodside NY. The numbers are 917-475-0318 and 347-527-9083. I have not answered any of these calls.they say I should call them and confirm my ss#.

I have been getting calls from social security that I had an appointment on 6/17/19 but I have not contacted social security about needing an appointment. I am afraid someone is trying to get information on my account or doing something fraudulent.

If an unknown individual claims to be from a legitimate organization, try to verify his or her identity directly with the company. Avoid providing personal information unless you are certain of a person’s authority to have the information. You can call Social Security’s toll-free customer service number at 1-800-772-1213, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to verify its legitimacy (TTY number at 1-800-325-0778).
