Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the blessings we have in our lives. At Social Security, we are most thankful because we’re able to provide you with services, benefits, tools, and information to help you throughout life’s journey.

As more than just a retirement program, Social Security is truly a cornerstone for America. We proudly serve you online, by phone, and in person in our network of field offices. We are there for joyous moments like the birth of children and issuing their first Social Security card. We are there during times of hardship and tragedy, providing disability, spouse, and survivors benefits to the families of deceased workers.  And we’re there to help you celebrate your retirement, too.

Happy Thanksgiving, from our family to yours.

I am so thankful that SSDI was there for me when I became disabled and could no longer work. The system worked for me quickly and efficiently and has been a true lifesaver.

Many thanks to all of the hardworking men and women of the Social Security system. Happy Thanksgiving

Hello, and we wish a happy Thanks Giving to all.
We pray we are here for the next Thanks Giving, we are going to loose our home due to foreclosure. We can’t seem to get any help any where the government won’t help us because of our private loan???
Thank you Ron & Kathy Sperling

I read on the Internet that President Trump signed a Bill, increasing the Social Security for us Seniors beginning December, 2017. Would that also mean an increase for us Seniors who are on SSD? If so, then how much more would I be getting in my monthly allotment, beginning January 1st, 2018?

    • AKA

Everyone gets the same % increase as long as they received 12 months of benefits in 2017. You’ll receive a Notice of Planned Action letter soon which will give you the exact figures.

Social Security has been a real blessing in our family’s life such as when I lost my dad to cancer and we got survivor benefits. Our oldest son who has lymphoma also receives Social Security disability benefits due to his serious illness. Some time next year, he will qualify for Medicare to help pay for his treatments. That is why I am proud to work for an agency that has benefited my family in so many ways over the years.

We appreciate your thoughts, Andy. Thank you for sharing!
