woman sitting by fireplace on her laptop In April, we celebrate National Social Security Month, and highlight our agency’s mission and purpose. We’re with you throughout life’s journey — from birth, to marriage, and into retirement — and we’re always searching for ways to give you easy and secure access to everything we offer.

We are constantly expanding our online services to give you freedom and control in how you wish to conduct business with us. Our online services help you plan for the future and keep you in control of your benefits. You can go online to:

  1. Find out if you qualify for benefits.
  2. Use our benefit planners to help you better understand your Social Security protection.
  3. Estimate your future retirement benefits to help you plan for your financial future.
  4. Retire online, or apply for Medicare quickly and easily.
  5. Open your personal my Social Security account. Your personal account is the most powerful tool to help you stay in control of your Social Security record. If you don’t receive benefits yet, you can:
    • Get your Social Security Statement to review your earnings, make sure they’re recorded correctly.
    • Get a benefit verification letter to prove you don’t receive Social Security benefits or that you applied but haven’t received an answer yet.
    • Request a replacement Social Security card if you meet certain requirements.
    • Check the status of your application or appeal a decision.

If you receive benefits, you can:

  1. Change your address and phone number.
  2. Get a benefit verification letter to prove you receive Social Security benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or Medicare.
  3. Start deposits or change your direct deposit information at any time.
  4. Get a replacement Medicare card.
  5. Get a replacement Benefit Statement (SSA-1099 or SSA-1042S) for tax purposes.

Do you own a business? You can also use our Business Services Online suite to report employee wages and verify names and Social Security numbers for W-2s.

Join us and celebrate National Social Security Month by seeing everything you can do online!

How do I complain about a doctor who is abusive and wasteful in writing prescriptions for Part D. I would like him investigated by Medicare.

I WONDER WHY EVEN THOUGH I WORKED AND PAID INTO SS UNTIL I WAS 86 WHY DID MY SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK NEVER REFLECT AN INCREASE TO MY MONTHLY CHECK. WHICH I STARTED RECEIVING WHEN I WAS 62.

I am 100% permanently disabled military veteran due to combat and am also approved and receiving monthly disability payment from Social Security. I am currently age 60 and want to know what will happen to my Social Security Disability payment when I reach the age of 66 and 8 months. Will I just continue receiving Social Security Disability monthly payment or will I begin at age 66 and 8 months automatically start to receive just regular social security monthly payment in the same amount as my current Social Security Disability monthly payment for the rest of my life? Also at age 66 and 8 months is there anything I am supposed to do with the Social Security Administration???

I applied for SS at 62. I receive approximately $600 a month. I am curious about how much money I can earn at a job, and not affect my SS payment? Eileen

I owe SSA, I call to make a payment every month. Here lately I am unable to reach the office to make my payment. I wish I could do this online it would be so much easier.

My husband and I are very upset with the new ‘security ‘ changes. We have one email address and one phone. We cannot add additional . The changes prohibit one of us from having an account as it will only accept the email and phone number on one account. This seriously needs to be changed. We can’t be the only married people with one phone and one email address . We could use email for one and phone for the other but the profile requires both. PLEASE FIX THIS SO NORMAL MARRIED PEOPLE CAN BOTH HAVE A MY SOCIAL SECURITY ACCOUNT. we would be happy to sign something saying it’s ok with us or whatever but right now we see no option online

I need to change my social security benefits from my deceased husbands to my own social security benefits. How do I do that?
