Hi, I am getting this message when I attempt to log in to mySSA.gov:

“We cannot process your request at this time. Please try again later”.

I read online that this means I am locked out of my acct. and I can attempt to login after 24hrs. Is this true or do I need to call SSA during their bus. hrs.?

    Thanks.

Is the new offer to receive Social Security reports electronically rather than by mail legitimate. How do I know this is not a scam?

Hi, Alex. Thanks for using our blog and for your question. In a few instances, we use marketing firms to raise awareness of Social Security’s online services, and this includes creating a personal my Social Security account. With your account, you can get a Social Security statement.  We allow these firms to send email directly to individuals. Any links you find within these emails should always point to a “.gov/” web address. We hope this information is helpful.

If the system does not allow me to create an account to access online services because I do not have an address in the U.S., how can I change my home address in Brazil?

I am receiving about fifty or so emails of SSA for various states which I have been deleting every day excepting California’s.
Is there any method to block emails of SSA for different states excepting California.
I have not subscribed for these.
