     Hello Rebecca. If you already receive benefits (retirement, survivors, or disability) and you have a bank account, you can start or update your direct deposit by using your personal my Social Security account. Thanks!

   I cannot get online to reset either my userid or password to apply for my medicare. It states I am locked out because it is incorrect which I know it is not since I was on last month. Very frustrated right now having to hold time for 55 minutes to get someone to assist me with getting online to reset my SS account. Until I get this corrected I cannot apply for medicare. How do I get help???

     Hello Jeramar. We do not have access to personal information, therefore, we do not do direct messaging in this venue. If you need proof you get Social Security benefits, Supplemental Security (SSI) Income or Medicare, you can request a benefit verification letter online by using your personal my Social Security account.

   I have been trying to help my 91 year old mother create an account online. The system says it cannot match the info. with anyone and to call the Helpdesk. When we try to call, the system says there are no Helpdesk personnel available. She NEEDS to get the account created in order to get a Medicare account to add Part D, and the deadline is looming. HELP!

    10/9/18: I have now been through the online process twice with no success. Each time, the system says the user name I have selected is not available. I’ve tried everything, including strings of random characters. Please advise.
