How SSA.gov Helps You

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added two screening tools to our redesigned website! SSA.gov provides you with many ways to learn about our programs and do business with us online. These tools are designed to help you determine your eligibility for benefits and help you request a replacement Social Security card.
Benefits Screener
You can use our Benefits Screener on the Check Eligibility for Social Security Benefits page to determine which benefits you may be eligible for, typically in 10 minutes or less! Whether you’re considering retirement, disability, survivor, or other types of benefits, this tool will guide you in the right direction.
To use the screener, select the “Start” button and answer a few questions about what’s going on in your life. You will immediately get a response that tells you which benefits you may be eligible for based on your answers.
Our benefits are there for you when you:
- Age and retire.
- Can’t work because of a disability.
- Lose a spouse.
- Have difficulty paying for essentials like food, clothing, and housing.
Benefits are also available to young children who lose a parent.

Card Replacement Screener
Our other tool is the Card Replacement Screener on our Replace Social Security card page. If you need a physical Social Security card, you can use this screener to determine the best way to replace it.
Depending on your situation, you may be able to request a replacement Social Security card without visiting a local office. Select Answer a few questions on the Replacement Card page to get started. Even if you can’t complete the process online and have to visit an office, you can still save yourself time by starting with the online application.
Requesting a replacement Social Security card is free. In most situations, you do not need to present a physical card – just knowing your Social Security number is usually enough. But if you do need the physical card, you can use this online screener to get started!

I was hit by a Train last September and I lost ALL my Identifications.. State ID, SS CARD, Birth Certificate And I wanted to Change my name, Because I am Always getting Hacked and identity Stolen , is this possible? And how Difficult will That be?How Difficult is it to get Replacements?

The SSA still has Jim Crow era laws in place that violates the equal protection clause under the 5th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The SSA charges disabled beneficiaries with an alcoholism or drug addiction condition twice the amount of the organizational payee fees than other disabled beneficiaries for the same service.
The SSA logo has seven stripes under USA representing the slave state of Maryland where the racist SSA headquarter was located. Every USA logo has red stripes under it representing the USA except for the SSA logo.
If you shrink the SSA logo to where you can’t read the words, it looks like Adolf Hitler.
When will the SSA replace the racist SSA logo?

We all know the history of the SSA. The SSA headquarter was established in the slave state of Maryland. The people working there were racist. The culture hasn’t changed except the white nationalists working there now are targeting disabled people.

You are the racist one here! There were no slaves anywhere, including Maryland, when SSA was established in 1939. Black, Brown, White and all other races are employees of the SSA and help all people applying for Social Security benefits.

The black and brown employees are as racist as the whites. They are hired due to affirmative action, but the white people at the top are calling the shots. The white racist put them in key positions to discriminate against their own race or minority group.
If you ever worked for the government, then you will see that most government put a minority as the head or investigators in the Discrimination Complaint Office. Those minority employees reject all complaints of discrimination.
A minority employee can get away with discriminating against their own people.

The representative payee program is the worst at discriminating against disabled individuals.
Under 42 U.S.C. 405(j)(1)(A), the secretary can only act in the best interest of an individual who cannot contract. Basically it allows the Secretary to contract with a representative payee for services and a fee agreement.
A individual who cannot contract cannot sign their name on the SSA disability application under 20 C.F.R. 404.612. Section 404.612 is regardless of legal competency or incompetency because others can sign the application for the mentally incompetent and not just the court representative.
A person with a alcoholism or drug addiction condition are not mentally incompetent or physically unable, but are mentally incapacitated and do not have the ability to contract. 42 U.S.C. 405(j)(1)(B) was added to include these individuals.
Under 20 C.F.R. 404.2010(a)(1), the mentally incapable refers to the person with an alcoholism or drug addiction condition.
The SSA doesn’t know what acting in the best interest of an individual means.
The SSA discriminate against the legally competent individual who can contract and appoints them a representative payee. The SSA won’t let them change their address online because they have a representative payee. The SSA won’t let them change their address over the phone with customer service. They can only change their address by visiting the local SSA office.
The disabled individual who can contract is discriminated against and appoint a representative payee and has to pay an unlawful fee agreement which they didn’t agree to. The contract is between the SSA and representative payee for the fee agreement. How can the SSA contract for an individual who can contract?

Social Security doesn’t protect the disabled or the elderly. It is a shame that all the years I have worked and paid into the Insurance Fund and receive SSDI and my disabled son from birth started drawing from my benefits only to get discriminated against by our State and then denied my benefits such as food, housing and transportation for a bad quality of life and when you voice your civil liberties and your rights, we are labeled mental illness. Everyone has a mental health issue. Our children are being taken illegally and being abused in Foster Care but the parents and the children that have been mentally tormented have a mental illness. Now children that turn 18 out of foster care are driving to live independently from transition out of high school are now called Institution so they can steal our kids Social Security money being disabled. Yes, the Government is sick and is leading the Americans to the pits of Hell. Biden sold us to the Devil, Chinese Communist Party our healthcare they will take over what happened to THE HIPPA LAW AND OUR PRIVACY ACT?? Why is GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL handling all our American Businesses such as wireless, 3 credit bureaus, banks and credit unions, credit cards, our Walmart stores online purchases. When is it going to stop. Now the Data Breaches and Identity thefts are on the rise and who is behind the Dark Web, I believe Global is, and there job is to destroy the United States and they are doing a fantastic job at it. Poisoning our water with toxins and chemicals also polluting our air suffocating us, killing our children and a human being with the Cartel bringing in the Fentanyl and Heroin, they are stock piling weapons and what is the government doing about it??? Taking away our freedoms and taking control of our money, starving us to death and leaving us homeless for a better chance to die and get rid of us. So they can have all the money and work the disabled children. We are in a crisis situation. Joe Biden needs to be gone and the American people needs to take our country back and get rid of the Employees not doing there jobs and impeach the Judges that don’t follow our Constitution and put them behind bars, instead of innocent American citizens defending our Constitutional Rights. Thanks for standing up for us Americans. I wish all would stand up for all are rights. They are definitely taking them away more and more every day. I sean so much corruptness in the county judges here it is plan out ridiculous as I watch a person that gets caught with a little bit of drugs do more time then a person that has got caught trafficking children for sex then I think we have a problem here. Also I don’t understand why they continue to mess with the mentally disabled people here in Texas as I am one of them and I have been to court for disability and have been approved from a federal judge to be mentally disabled that was 7 months ago and still I have not yet received one dime as I have worked all my life until I was severely assaulted and they say that they will help with food and housing well I am homeless and not receiving no help with food and I was approved over 7 months ago what is happening with this country today I just don’t know what to do or what to say anymore.

I’m in similar situation were they took my children while I was leaving a domestic violence situation wirh TPO in place 3rd on ein 3years so the father made a false report of abuse and said I was unstable and had a drug addiction. So they arrested me at school picking my son up. The lady removed kids without law enforcement legally placing them in her care. They placed them I. Foster 6 hrs after the arrest and I was out 5 hors before that bit could not locate my kids til the next day . And forced to be questioned as to my lack of moral character and it being why I can’t pare t my children and lack of religion, forced to be put on medication that they say I have to take if I want my kids back and granted all my disablity, tribal, veterans and ssa to him because of course he took me for custody! Forced to drug screen 8 months nothing but when I started the medicines they have me on have 7 interactions with 2 fatal and 4 that screen false positives for amphetamines and methamphetamine. They restricted my rights to even visit for 1 year now not aloud to wven speak to them because I said I wanted to ask my son why he didn’t want to come home of course my abuser is the one who has scared him and will be the one they plan to return them too. And petition to terminate my rights filed with court and newspapers 6 months prior to my even be served on the matters and 7 months since that still ko court date and since they took my kids with no warrant nor with anyone law placing them in their care no proof of abuse no medical exam, no therapy, and now not able to even see their mom they are 6 and 9 . It’s crazy how easy it is to wake up and realize you are born to this country so was all your descendants , you have no rights to your kids bc you chose not to marry your abuser and you aren’t given any benefits , legal help, resources or protection from financial exploitation of a disabled person by trust family members all because your born with cognitive learning disablity in which they use to the advantage of themselves and leave me no homeless and jobless because they submit those drug screens like I’m applying for a job each month with debt of children and family services or some other type of federal govt. Position . I’ve been stripped of all I’ve worked for my whole life since I was 15 I’m 42 and took care of my mother thru 3 cancers and my grandmother through hip surgery, blindness with alzhemirs til she passed while raising 2 kids and dealing with a mentally abusive partner who gets it all and put nothing into 13 Years of our lives . Co.e to our country take our lands and find any loop hole you can or amend rules to fit there political views or public opinion . Well publicly I state you can’t take what never belong to you but they do it ever day. No civil rights or moral value left for indigenous, native or natural citizens. I believe your word should stand foe more than the advertisement of protection how about some actually results. I wish so eone would help me get my child back home safe and in a home we can call that. I have faith in the mannof above if things don’t change by there part HE WILL Redeem us for the slavery and injustice do to people by those in power . Time for a change time for equality to be afforded to all people not just ones you don’t amend out of the policy by some random ruling by a impartial court judge . I’m do e right lost to how this goes on and no one noticed or said anything about how it really is to live in thos country. If you call thos living , caus eats seems more like death row even prisoners get visitation with family I got the shaft.

I have asked for my retired benefits and submitted this packet in Feb 23. It was received on Feb 23rd at KC, Mo. It is now 7/20/23 and I have not heard anything 5 months later. I asked for my benefits to start in June 23. I am almost two months past that date. Help please.

I am a surviving spouse of 30 years (Common Law Marriage) can I receive benefits from my husband’s Social Security. I only get social security from my work history.

Hi, Frances. Thanks for your question. Social Security follows the state laws. So, check the laws in your state. To get survivors or spouses benefits you generally must live in a state that recognizes common-law marriage. However, most states (even those that do not recognize in-state common-law marriage) will recognize a common-law marriage entered into in another state that do. For more specific questions, you can contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

I submitted a letter to my local SSA office, certified return receipt requested. The letter was received because someone signed for it and I received the receipt. This was in February 2023. To this date July 20 I have not received acknowledgement of my letter. I provided my address, my phone number, and my email. Yet I have not received the courtesy of a response.
