Get a Replacement Social Security Tax Form Online With Ease

If you misplaced your Benefits Statement or haven’t received it by the end of January, we’ve made it easy to go online to get a replacement with a personal my Social Security account.

An SSA-1099, also called a Benefit Statement, is a tax form Social Security mails each year in January to the more than 60 million people who receive Social Security benefits. It shows the total amount of benefits received from Social Security in the previous year so people know how much Social Security income to report to the IRS on their tax return.

    Hello. I receive SSI disability, and my minor daughter receives monthly benefits from this as well. I received my SSA-1099, last month. Should I receive a separate one for the benefits paid out on my daughters behalf??

    Secondly, can I create an online account for my minor daughter, for the purposes of viewing monthly benefits, if I wanted to change the account, to her own savings account, etc.?? Or is there a way of accessing her information, from my SSA online account, since she is a minor dependent beneficiary of my disability benefits??

      Hello Nicole, you can only create a my Social Security account using your own personal information and for your own exclusive use. Also, one of the requirements to create an account is that the individual creating an account has to be at least 18 years of age.
      SSA’s role is to provide a benefit statement each year to each beneficiary who may be subject to Federal income taxes on his or her Social Security benefits. Please call our toll free number at 1-800-772-1213 and ask one of our agents to assist you in regards to your daughter’s benefits and Form SSA-1099. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Or contact your local Social Security office. Thanks!
