All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

My Mother is in a long term nursing facility. Her social security check is paid to the facility for her stay. She was told that she will not receive the stimulus check due to living in the facility. I need the correct answer please before notifying the facility. She does not burial insurance and could use the monies for these expenses. Thank You

        Hi, Ms. VanTil,
The problem is that the IRS EIP Info Center doesn’t address the questions many of us have, especially regarding beneficiaries who have a Representative Payee. Perhaps they would be willing to share the info with you & you could relate it to the rest of us. We would appreciate it. And it would eliminate the need for people to ask the same questions repeatedly. Thanks.

    • BETTY H.

  8. Kristina

Does anyone know what the situation is for disabled beneficiaries who have a Representative Payee? Will the money be deposited to the bank account in which his regular benefits are deposited? I’ve tried checking on Get My Payment, but his status is unavailable. Does he have to sign up? I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I cannot find an answer to this anywhere, either on the IRS site or SSA site. Thanks much.

    • Edward

It’ll be deposited in the bank account where your normal check gets deposited, or in the mail if your check is mailed. SSDI any day now, early May for SSI

      • Kristina

        Thanks so much, Edward.

My husband filed taxes and child support took it then they took his stimulate check. Now I file married but separate will I get my stimulate check. I receive SSDI.

  10. Eric D.

I am on Social Security disabled adult child will I be receiving a stimulus check yes or no if so when would I receive it? And if not why would I not be getting it because I know I am not claimed as a dependent.
I have looked at the IRS portal and It says there is no information at this time for me

    • Deedeedee

It’s outrageous at the Social Security administration of the IRS combined have not addressed this issue. Right now we are presently tells this group of people as yourself that they don’t even know if you’re even qualified. This is outrageous because they should be getting it in a couple of days.

      • Eric D.

Why would they not be eligible I am not claimed as a dependent so why would I not be eligible it doesn’t make any sense I got a valid Social Security card so why would I not be eligible?

        • Edward

As long as you are not claimed as a dependent you will get a check, SSI in early May, SSDI any day now. The IRS portal will not show for SSI or SSDI if no taxes are filed at this time.

    • Alex

hi my name is Alex I receive SSI almost got the same question because every time I try to check and I put my Social Security and my dead or birth it says that my information is wrong to put a real information it seems like I’m not getting money neither I have my kids I have five kids I did my taxes last year’s with my kids and I’m to now everybody around me I got money except me I really lost my hope already I’m under review through the court because they want to take my disability after heart surgery in my brain I’ve been disabled since 2003 and I don’t even know if I’m getting my check now on the 3rd because this people give me the money every month and then out of the random they shut down my check they do whatever they want so I tell you something Buddy don’t even sweat it because at the end you’re going to get frustrated like I have it’s not worth it at the end of do whatever they walk is that was shot down my check I don’t know what to do because all the Social Security office they’re closed so I have nowhere that I can go the b**** out somebody for them to reinstate me back I was checking my card right now and nothing is pending I’m supposed to get paid on the 3rd but the 3rd falls on a Sunday so we supposed to get paid on the first most of the time my money will be pending 3 days before then I’m afraid because nothing is pending and I depend of the money to pay rent and they know that I was homeless for a month but they don’t care I don’t give a s*** about that I want to take you off as they have done to a lot of people I know God bless you.
