All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

The strange twiilght of reality. If you filed a tax return you get a check, if you didn’t you get zero. SSI most don’t file because 24 K in SSI you don’t need to. That means you are not an American and you get net ZERO. Three deomcrates have proposed a 200 dollar increase per month for six months. It has and will not pass. You are not worthy to get a dime.

What’s with this new problem with people asking questions about being afraid being told they are being rude. Fear is very real at this time and shouldn’t be condemned, denied or overlooked. If someone has a fear or concern, let’s acknowledge and address it. If you can’t handle your anxieties, seek therapeutic help but don’t deny or criticize someone else’s feelings. A lot of questions being posed are very valid.

Why wouldn’t those of us on ssdi get the stimulus checks if people who haven’t lost their jobs are going to get one? That makes no sense to me. I’d love to work and i receive ssdi BECAUSE i worked my whole life and PAID IN before my disability. People on ssi DID NOT PAY IN thats why ssi is welfare and they shouldnt really be entitled to the stimulus check but people who did the right thing and paid their way shouldn’t be excluded if abled bodied people who can just go get another job are getting a stimulus check as if they themselves are disabled meanwhile alot of them have not lost their jobs. It seems to me that those of us on ssdi are mostly struggling and doing it as disabled people and those americans who can work need to stand up for us or they themselves should admit that they dont deserve the stimulus unless they have lost their jobs. Just saying.

If it’s proposed by Trump and McConnell its probally not going to happen. They probally been blowing smoke up our butts from the jump knowing damn well the republicans are full of hot air. and if its true if got a stimulus check/s last go round you will most likely get one if its at all true good

  6. KC

You guys need to toughen up. Buckle up its gonna be a bumpy ride especially for people on SSI/SSD and not worry about who was rude, they answered the question. What more do you want?

all you bored old people should get off the blog so others can get an answer to the important question- do people on social security also get a stimulus check, and how much will it be?

    • A.C.

Hi, Edward. We understand there have been reports about the possibility of additional government payments to individuals due to the economic effects of the Coronavirus. At this time, no law has been passed that calls for Social Security to issue any new payments. We hope this helps to answer your question.

  9. Tiff

I read somewhere they are not paying the people ssi for two months is that true or no because I’m on ssi and I’m was going to find me a job soon but all this virus thing

  10. Lady i.

Oh my goodness. I forgot what the question was. I opened this to try to find out the status for social security recipients in regard to the stimulus checks.
It is shocking to hear and see how people are reacting over something so stupid as a comment about whether or not someone was rude. Who cares? It is not all about you! It is even more shocking to see people hoarding toilet paper and goods like it is the end of the world! I am embarrassed to be part of such a selfish America. What happened to love your neighbor as yourself?
