I filed a non-medical reconsideration request/appeal online, addressing a possible benefit underpayment. Will the status of this request appear in my online account and, if so, when will it first appear?
V.V.
Hi Robert, thanks for using our blog. You can check the status in your my Social Security account. It will show if a decision has been made on your appeal. If you’re unable to check the status of your appeal online, you may call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or you can contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

Hi, Vonda. Thank you for the response. At the moment, there is no record of the appeal to be seen within my Social Security. Are you saying only a decision will appear on the site, or should I also be able to check on its status as it progresses? I filed the appeal only a few days ago, so am wondering if there is a delay before it appears within my Social Security. Regards.
V.V.
Hi Robert, thanks for reaching out. If the application status in your my Social Security account is not showing the appeal, you may want to call your local Social Security office. Look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information.

On my SSA online account it says they made a decision to deny my SSI. On my SSDI it only say. They made a decision but did not say the decision for SSDI was denied. It just says they made a decision on my claim. Dies this mean I was approved for SSDI?
