I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.

To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.

Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

Does anyone know if you are receiving SSDI, can you apply for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance with penalty or not. S.C. Dew, and US Department of Labor have updated articles as of April 28th. Many laws, updates in regards to the Assistance are very different/conflicting. Any information anyone has any s much appreciated.

  8. John

I’m on ssi and got the check I also filled out the Non-filler… if you haven’t gotten it fill it out can’t hurt…

  9. Albert

Might have a better chance of getting the stimulus if we’re dead. Any volunteers?

  10. Robert

Actually, I don’t think they are in a rush to straighten out this mess or sending the stimulus checks or depositing the money in any speedy way. We’re probably yelling into the wind on this website. I’ve never received any stimulus check. Every time I go on the IRS site it says they don’t have my information, yet I’ve been paying taxes since I was seventeen. Every year. And, it’s done by a tax accountant. And, yes I qualify.
It’s just a screwed up situation. I probably won’t get anything. If I do it will probably be in the end of the summer when the recovery will have started. Then they will renege on the whole thing. Wouldn’t be surprised.

I’m in the same boat as you Robert. Still haven’t gotten the stimulus and when I went online with the information on my 2019 taxes it says I don’t have the right information. Even tried 2018 taxes.

I have not received mine either. Many of my friends have, so I was concerned. However, as you have learned there is not real way to find out when checks go in for SSI, I thought maybe they would go alphabetical as many other things have in the past, but I have a friend whose last name begins with W and she got her check a few weeks ago.
