I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.
Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

Sir, SSI Recipeants need an increase in our benefits for one or two months like everyone else is getting.. This is a dire emergency. We need to have the means to stock up on food and essentials. We live month to month on very little.
suzzie
Thank you for posting that link to the article for SSI and Disability benefits. $200.00 more a month, of course, is appreciated, however, not necessary. I feel for those who will lose jobs, they will need the income. I worked for over forty years, paid into SS and I am now collecting SSI. Perhaps the whole SSI system should be revamped. For those collecting now, that boat has sailed. Our younger generations should be thinking about life after 60. Instead, their heads are in the clouds and looking for quick fixes and “something for nothing”

Hi Suzzie,
Take your verbal bull shit and shove it up your ass. Douche bag.

Right you asshole. I suppose if we do get the additional 200, you won’t spend it, because it isn’t necessary? Take your high and mighty ass and get the fuck out of here. It must be nice to be so well off that you don’t need the additional help especially during a time like this. How about stop taking SSI and leave it for those who TRULY need it. Nobody, I repeat , nobody, who actually needs this program can afford to make such a stupid comment like yours. The ignorance around here is absolutely appalling.

SSI – This is your fault for voting for republicans.

My prediction is when something final gets signed SS recipients will get something but it will just be a token gesture. Similar to the cost of living increases every year based on a flawed formula it will be just enough to keep us scratching and clawing to get and far too little to be of any real help.

sadly I have to agree with this

Thats been posted here before. Old news. Republicans aren’t agreeing.

I think that’s why they haven’t sealed the deal yet… But Pelosi said it would be signed tomorrow… I’m not holding my breath that’s for sure!

It will be signed for us to receive the additional 200.00? I was sure Pelosi was dead set against it. So much back and forth know one knows.
My dad tested positive. and I saw some video where someone licked a toilet bowl for a coronavirus challenge. this is SO f’d up
Just M.
I have no idea what’s going to be in it. But she said it would be signed tomorrow… then we’ll all know what’s going on.
I’m sorry your dad tested positive 🙁

We are not getting $200 more a month. whose dream is that? And fuck you all that come here to tell me I get free money. You cocky bastards. That is the very LEAST this country should be doing for some of us. Both of my parents served this country, to protect scum like yourselves. I hope you all loose your jobs.
Ryan L.
Republicans will never, N E V E R agree to $200 extra for you. Sorry, but you know how they feel about non workers.
Mark
Yeah after blowing up the cost of the bill to 2 trillion they can’t see to help the least among us with all that spending. As usual they want most of it to go to big business without conditions so the companies can use it to give bonuses to corporate execs and stock buybacks to benefit the shareholders.
The Dems are planning to introduce their own bill but that is not a good sign for anything bipartisan actually getting done.
Just M.
It’s ok… I know where my vote is going 🙂
