You know, the one that shows all the earnings you’ve had each year and how much you could receive per month in Social Security benefits when you retire? The Statement contains crucial information workers need to plan for a comfortable retirement. Now, thanks to my Social Security, this information—and so much more— is only a few minutes away!

Your personal my Social Security account is secure and gives you ready access to your earnings records, Social Security benefit estimates, and printable Statements. Those who already receive benefits can view their payment history, current status, and manage their benefits.

To open a personal my Social Security account, go to our website and select “Create an Account” to get started. You must be 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, U.S. mailing address (or a military address if deployed overseas), and an email address.

In some cases — like if there was reported credit card fraud under your name or Social Security number — you may have to contact your local Social Security office to open a personal my Social Security account.

Once registered, you can:

  • Verify your earnings history.
  • View estimated Social Security benefits based on your past earnings.

    Both my husband, Richard A. Barry and I, Marilyn J. Barry have had My social security accounts in the past. Recently we have both attempted to access our social security information online only to receive messages that our accounts have been suspended. We are trying to find out what our new social security check amounts will be after 2020 cola increases and medicare premium increases. Hopefully you can send letters or notices to our address at 6242 Sunset Haven St., San Antonio, TX 78249 through the US mail informing us of this information since we do not have access online.     Recorded telephone call today said my SS benefits would be discontinued because of Fraud. Said SSA and FBI are investigating. Held for connection to office but foreign sounding woman hung up the phone when Is he heard my voice and did not wish to answer my question of where she was calling from?

    Think this is a fraud case. The call came to my US telephone 956-509-7500 at 11:15 am from 1-800-934-3433.

Recently, scams—misleading victims into making cash or gift card payments to avoid arrest for Social Security number problems—have skyrocketed. Our employees will never threaten you for information or promise a benefit in exchange for personal information or money.

    This is a question. I went to SS for a Account Activation Code because I could not set up mySocialSecurity. In the first paragraph of the letter, they say “you will receive a mailed notice within 5-10 business days. What does this mailed notice contain?
