Thanks for your question, Charles. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) notices for 2018 are mailed during the month of December, so your wife should be receiving her notice soon. Remember, If you or your wife need proof you get Social Security benefits, Supplemental Security (SSI) Income or Medicare, you can request a benefit verification letter online by using your my Social Security account.

Hi James, if you’re referring to the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) notices for 2018, these letters are mailed during the month of December. If you’re referring to the Form SSA-1099, which is a tax form and it shows the total amount of benefits you received from Social Security in the previous year.
