Earlier this week, The White House issued national guidance regarding Opening Up America Again. We are evaluating this information as it relates to our agency and are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation across the nation. In fulfilling Social Security’s mission, when we reopen offices to the public, we will provide a safe environment for both the people we serve and our employees.

As we continue to develop our plans, our offices will remain closed to the public for face-to-face service, and our employees will continue to work remotely and provide services to the public. We will provide updates moving forward and post updated information on the status of our offices, by state, at our website. Our agency will provide these updates directly, and please disregard other sources of information regarding the status of our offices.

We will continue to provide the vital service the public relies on. Please visit our website for more information about our services during the pandemic.

So do you still get a checked if you were already listed as a dependent and it has been processed.

    • Mr B.

If you are a dependent on another tax return you will not get a stimulus check.

My wife and I are both over 70. We file and pay taxes every year but never get a refund. we both receive SS electronically. We have not received the stimulus payment. The IRS web page has never worked and now it is down over the weekend. How can I find out if and when we will receive the payment?

    • Mr B.

The irs said on friday that retirees & ssdi will get there checks by april29 & ssi , va will get it the week after may5.

Hi Ken, thank you for your question. Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who do not have qualifying children under age 17 do not need to take any action with the IRS. You will automatically receive your $1,200 economic impact payment directly from the IRS. You should receive the automatic payments by direct deposit, Direct Express debit card, or by paper check, just as you would normally receive your Social Security benefits. Treasury expects automatic payments for Social Security beneficiaries no later than the end of April and automatic payments for SSI recipients no later than early May. We hope this helps.

    Liberate Social Security offices.

I’m on SSDI and every time I try to check if I got my stimulus check it’s says it don’t recognize my information. At first it would say payment not available so why now is it saying it doesn’t recognize my information and I been getting my money all this time through the Direct Express Card. So where is my stimulus check wasn’t it supposed to be direct deposit to my card or what and I have been checking every chance I can and nothing yet.

    • Mr B.

The IRS website hasnt finished getting the information from the ssa website so they wont recongnize your input.

Plz I recieved my green card last week but I did not receive my ssn until now. I arrived to USA ?? on 19 march 2020. I am totally brook because I can not get any job without my ssn. All office are closed

    • Prc

Maybe you should go back home for now. When the coronavirus is over we will have millions of Americans who will be looking for a job. When the economy is back to 100% and the Americans have their jobs back and are able to support their families, you could look to come back if there is a job for you here.

This may sound really dumb but, how do I find out if I get SSDA, it SSI IT WHAT I GET EVERY MONTH?
    This is so confusing!!!
I received the SSA 1099, and have not filed taxes.
I get my payment direct deposited into my bank every month, so I don’t need to do that.
I just have no idea what to look at for my payment of the stimulus check?
    HELP PLEASE DON’T BE MEAN,

    • Jessicas m.

Lyss if you are getting SSA 1099’s, then you have either retirement or SSDI. You might get SSI with it, some people do. But either way, if you get those 1099’s, you don’t need to do anything. You will get a stimulus check.

when is the question no one has addressed that question hey keep saying the same things and not giving any updates on when this suppose to happen, and why is the IRS and Treasury department making such big mistakes and depositing in wrong accounts if SSA has direct deposit information on record how is it happening and making mistakes and putting large amounts in some peoples accounts ????

        • Sybil

There is an update that regular SS beneficiaries and SSI recipients with direct deposit on file with the SSA are in the payments the IRS is sending out today and those payments should hit accounts by Wednesday the 29th. Those with VA and SSDI should receive their payment in early May. If you did not enter the information in dependent children. You can still go to the IRS and enter that information. The new deadline is 5/4/20. I hope this information is helpful and can alleviate some of our frustrations.

I have both disability’s I have 2 daughters but they are over 17 yrs old

    • Vonda V.

Hi Lyss, thank you for your question. If you receive an SSA-1099, you’re receiving a Social Security benefit. Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who do not have qualifying children under age 17 do not need to take any action with the IRS. I don’t know. Been wanting trusting what you have said. I’m on SSDI for awhile, I have my my Direct Express card with no changes for awhile. I have May’s pending deposit notification. It’s officially April 29th and nothing, no notification, no deposit. Nothing from the good ole boys from the IRS.
DO YOU HAVE A REASON FOR THAT.
