Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

Received a phone call this morning, stating that my SSN was part of a crime investigation. I hung up. The phone number used was 833-568-5222.

I have received a call from social security that stated I have problem with my social security number. I called the return phone number back as 1-360-938-7446. Someone picked up the call and I asked them that their social security location and address. The two times that I called back with different people answered the call and give me different address of the social security locations. Thus, I assume it is spam call. If the social security has issue with our social security number or file, will we receive a formal letter from the social security office.

I’ve received 2 phone calls in the past week from someone saying my SSN has been compromised and to call the SSA. Since I don’t answer calls from numbers I’m not familiar with, I let it go to voicemail. The caller didn’t identify himself by name or mention the person in our household to whom the call was directed. Also, he didn’t leave a number to call. I thought it was a scam so I deleted the call but thought I would let someone in your office know.

I’ve had 2 calls saying my Social security is being suspended. I am thinking I would get that notice in the mail. It’s too hard to use your reporting process.

I have gotten a bunch of phone calls for me to call before legal action are taken, I’m really getting tired of these calls and not being able to get into my SS account. I’ve had to cancel my account two different times now and I tried again today and my account is locked again. I wish there was something you could do for me. This has been going on since about April that I can remember I deleted all the messages back then but now I’ve keep the last 3 with the phone #. Here they are. #8442-240-8112 called on 8-27-19 at 4:05 pm, #830-216-8063 called on 9-10-19 at 5:02 pm, 773-302-0085 9-16-19 around 12:00 pm

As far as your personal my Social Security account, if you are still unable to access your account or encounter a problem with your personal my Social Security account, you may:
•Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; or
•Contact your local Social Security office. Just a reminder – please be cautious about posting personal information on social media. We hope this helps.

I keep getting recorded call stating they are from the Social Security Administration. I don’t take the call but they leave a voice mail to contact them at 401-593-1763. The latest seem to show the call was coming from Warwick, RI. The recorded voice always sounds the same.

I received a phone call with recorded message saying my social security numbe was going to be frozen and my benefits discontinued. I pressed 1 for an operator and a foreign speaking man asked for my name I said Susan Dowd then I was hung up on ,the number the call came from is 800 368 3478. I logged in to my ss and see nothing in my account . was this an attempt to steal my information.
