Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

    Received call from 1-302-414-6178 stating my SS account has been frozen. I hung up and did nothing.

    two phone calls claiming to be ssa about my scocial security number being used by someone else. they called from1-8007752581 &19492973431 claiming to be inspectors for s.s.a.

    I received a call on 9/6/19 leaving a message from Social Security that if I didn’t call back my social security payments would be stopped. I DID NOT CALL BACK. The number was 1-410-834-0558. I’m jus reporting this to SSA to let you know.

    I have been receiving phone calls saying it is from the Social Security Dept. sating my SS number has been suspended.

    On 09\04\2019 I received several calla from 1.386.277.4142. As I did not answer the calla a voice mail was left each time stating my social security number has been compromised. Is this a scam?

    i was contacted via voice mail saying they need the last 4 numbers of my ss number to take care of an issue or they would issue a bench warrant to have me arrested. do i have to give them my ss number?

    I have received robo calls from two different numbers both saying SSA had detected fraudulent activity on my account and that my social security number was suspended. If you want to know about this case press 1, thank you. the numbers are: 281-406-0762 and 240-573-8087. The numbers are probably spoofed so I doubt reporting them will do any good. This is not the first time I have received these calls. Previous calls have just been deleted.

    Got suspicious call on 8/28/2019 about 1:00 p.m. from 800-238-8179. They left a voice mail saying that due to suspicious activity with my social security number that my SS number has been suspended. Please reply if this was a legitimate or a fraudulent call.

    Both my husband and I have been receiving phone calls stating that our SS# is being used fraudulently in a different state and the call 984 235 6659 to go over this case

    Social security does not call individuals if their SS# is being used do they ?

    please advise as we have not called this number but thought you would like to know

    the numbers they are calling are our cell # 614 3706124 and 614 329 1767

    Received a call stating I had fraudulent activity on the southern border. The number was 1-800-566-0034. I did not reply and blocked the number. Was this appropriate procedure?
