I received a call from the social security office in Lubbock, tx phone # (806)797-0597. the lady calling left the callback number of (866) 467-0460. I returned the call and got a voicemail to leave my social security no. and phone no and she would get back to me. I left my name and phone no. but did not leave ss#. Does social security office ask for you to leave ss# when calling and leaving a message?

  5. Elek J.

On July 31, 2-019, at or about 11:20 am (EST), received an automated phone call on my cell phone claiming that my social security number was ‘suspended’ based on suspicious activity.
    The phone number was: 1+878-293-3138.

I did not return the call. Therefore, request verification regarding the above number.

I received a call from ” the SSI office” yesterday, and after they confirmed that they were talking to me, they told me to hold on. I heard a lot of talking in the back ground as if it was a very busy office and then after less than 5 seconds the call disconnected. They did not ask for any other information other then my name. I suspect this was probably a scam attempt

received a phone call from 844-267-0339 saying my SSN # had been suspended for suspicious activity and I need to call them immediately is this a fraudulent call or not?

  8. Kenneth E.

I have received several phone calls from people saying that my social security number is being used for fraudulent activities and I will become a defendant in a federal lawsuit. I have ignored them until the most recent one this morning from Buda, TX 512-354-7649 and I thought I should report it. They ask me to call back but I haven’t. Just want to know if I am doing the right thing>

I cannot figure out from the options above where to report this. I received a phone call from 800-681-2000, from, first a recording, claiming to be SSA. It told me to dial #1 to get a person, so I humored it and did. A man with a very thick accent answered and asked how he could help me. I told him they called me! He asked my name and SS#. I told him I thought that the only way SSA contacted people was by U.S. mail and I didn’t know if he was really who he was claiming he was. The next thing I heard: He hung up. He knew I was on to him and he wasn’t going to get anywhere with ME. I blocked the number.

  10. Florence S.

I received a call from SSA saying that my SS card has been suspended.
