I received a robocall today saying they were from the SSA and that I should return their call, with my criminal attorney at (833) 265-5140. I have only just recently filed for social security benefits, and have not begun receiving them yet. Concerned that this might be a scam.

You can also report these scams to the Federal Trade Commission through a new site specific to Social Security scams, here. I had a message from someone claiming to be from Social Security stating my SS# has been suspended due to suspicious activity. I did not return their call but rather called Social Security Administration and was told to report the incident here.

I just wanted to report that I got a call saying that my social security number was going to be suspended and that I should call 469-296-6020 to prevent that from happening.

We have been getting phone calls from some one stating they are the Social Security Administration and we need to talk to them because our SS# is being fraudulently used. We need to press “1” and do something I am afraid it is a scam. Can you tell me if this type calls are being made to other people?

I received a phone call 7/17/2019 @4:05pm. Telling me my benefits had been suspended due to fraudulent activity on my account. They wanted my name and ss#.
I asked for his name and badge number, the reply was sort of muffled. I refused to give it to him and he said oh, I can’t help you without it, I only need the last 4. I refused and was disconnected. Just wanted to report this to you.
The caller ID said US Government, phone number was 866-931-7875

I keep getting repeated phone calls from phone #410-390-4141 claiming to be from the SSA wanting me to verify my name and SS#. This happens many times a day. I have refused to give them any information. Probably a spoofed # but it shows to be from OCEAN CITY, MD.
