I signed up last year on the My Social Security website using Now when I try to log in through your website asks for an authentication code, which I do not have, then takes me through a verification process. I complete the process, then it tells me I’m already in the system and takes me right back to the login page. It’s a cycle and I never get in. What can I do?

    • Ann C.

We went to SSA office in Wisconsin, they are telling us we have to update our mailing address on a GSA (Homeland Security) website for sical security record purposes, not in the new SSA website. They also said IRS does not update our tax filing mailing address into the SSA portal, even though both agencies operate under the Department of Treasury. Raises some questions about how government is organizing itself post covid.

Asking people to call 1-800-772-1213 to solve any issues is so ridiculous! I was on hold for 50 minutes while at work and because I did not hear the person who finally picked up she hung up on me. The personnel are so rude! The website should give me to option to make an appointment, but it doesn’t and I have to suffer her rudeness. We are all human beings trying to do our jobs, she should look for another job if her patience is too thin! I am so annoyed, an hour of my time wasted!

My homepage on the my Social Security website does not have tabs at the top. I have tried logging in using both Safari and Chrome. All software and OS are newest Mac versions. The SSA website is otherwise fully functional as it has been for years. I believe that I am not seeing the new website design. Specifically, I need the “replacement documents” tab to obtain a 1099 form since this was never received by mail this year. What solution would you recommend?

    • Ann C.

Hi, Bruce. We are sorry to hear you have had difficulty accessing your account. Please contact your local Social Security office for assistance. We hope this is resolved soon.

I have tried several times to login to my account and all it does is. Says loading…. But never loads. Then you tell us to call the help desk and if we get through they hang up. Or say we are backed up call again later with Sam results. This is an outrage I think the BBB may help that is my next step.

    • Sara

This is happening to me also repeatedly when I try to login. I sign in and submit the verification code that they send, then it goes nowhere. Sometimes it says loading forever.
