How you can provide SS card replacement for active duty Soldiers deployed?

    • V.V.

Hi Pablo: Thank you for your question. Because of privacy and security concerns, you cannot apply for a Social Security card on behalf of the deployed soldier. They can apply by mail with required documentation. All documents must be either originals or certified copies. To learn more on how to get a replacement card, please visit our “Social Security Number and Card” web page. They can also contact their nearest Federal Benefits Unit for assistance.

I cannot get into my online account. Requested temporary past word to be sent. Called to follow up and was told that it was not 10 business days at least. Called a week later and was told I would be sent another temporary password. I received the temporary password which did not work either. This is getting ridiculous.

How do I replace my daughter’s social security card? She is eleven years old and her name is Jenine Marie Ladan

    • A.C.

Hi, James. Thanks for your question. Generally, when applying for a replacement Social Security card for a child under the age of 18, we consider the parent(s) or step-parent with custody, as the proper applicant. Remember that knowing your daughter’s number is what is important. You will rarely need to show her card, but if you need information on how to obtain a replacement Social Security card, visit our Frequently Asked Questions. You will need to present documents proving your identity, your children’s identities and citizenship status (if not already established), and evidence of your relationship to, or responsibility for, your children. Also keep in mind the submitted documents must be originals. You can use birth certificates to prove your children’s age or citizenship. But you cannot use it as proof of identity. We hope this helps.
