I have tried to log into my account as I have gotten notice of changes by my emails but when I try to log in with the log in remembered in my computer and it tells me my name and password is not correct. Below on this form I clicked on the name blank and my computer filled in the correct name and email correctly- so do not know why I cannot log in to see new announcements I receive on line.

The message center on our SSS online account should be a two-way communication so that we can email our concerns directly to SSA. Presently right now we can only read, we can not reply or send emails.

How does this affect my disability at age 62 and 65?

    • tony

Most of the fraudsters on disability claim they can’t leave their house. Creating and account let’s you manage your Social Security from home and you don’t have to go to the SSA office.

      • Marc

And you would know this…how? From TV pundits and radio show hosts, politicians bent on ending Social Security and the gossip you see in online comment boards and nefarious websites, clearly. There’s so much more to applying for Social Security Disability insurance than just filling out a form online. It can’t be done entirely online for your information, just so you know.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Mark. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day. You can also contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

I must insist, Why beneficiaries residing overseas cannot open an account? This appears to be discriminatory.

    • Ann C.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, Gildo. The my Social Security authentication system requires address verification as one of the essential criteria for issuing an account. People with APO/FPO/DPO addresses can create an account overseas, but our system does not support registration and account creation for users with a foreign address yet. However, you do not need a U.S. address to access our website. Please contact your localFederal Benefits Unit for any assistance related to Social Security benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this helps.
