I received codes that I submitted for setting up an account renewal not one of the codes work each time sent. Although Paulette was nice she did a lot of the talking, and my screen was not giving me the “next” button on the submit. I explained I was running a program, and she assured me I now know, so she had to get off quickly. I have spent the last hour trying to find the call me feature on line and cannot, Although she said the call volume was not long, I think about an hour is long. Now I am locked out as every code which was sent would not work with pop ups saying that wasn’t the code I took screen shots and can prove they were. So something is not so wrong with my computer but possibly your system today?

Hi, Dennis. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., for assistance. Generally, you will have a shorter wait if you call later in the day. There was nothing quick or easy about this process. My social security info is definitely secure from me since I was denied access. I’m an accounting manager by trade so I do have financial records. Apparently, mine don’t match theirs. Some of them made no sense since I did not purchase a house in the year info was requested. Do I want to waste an hour every day for an unknown number of days until I “guess” the answers they want? Nope. Can I go to the SS office with ID and get set up there? Who knows.

If you have a credit freeze (or in my case a simple opt-out from pre-approved credit offers) then SSA will not let you open an account. How about some instructions for those of us who don’t want to risk ID theft but still need to create a “my social security” account?
A.C.
Hi, L.G. We are sorry you are having difficulty with your personal my Social Security account. You can create an account without removing the security freeze or fraud alert, but you will have to visit your local field office. If you do not have time to visit our office, you can ask Experian to remove the freeze or alert. We hope this helps.
