I had tried to request an online statement of my social security retirement benefits but was locked out. When I tried to sign back in I forgot my log in password and now I can’t get it to reset or try to make a new log in account. How do I correct this?

I have been locked out of mysocialsecurity. I live in Spain. It’s extremely expensive for me to call the U.S. and wait on hold for long periods of time before I can speak with someone.

I left a message on this site several weeks ago asking for help. I got an email reply apologizing for the delay but containing absolutely no other information! Then I got an email telling me there was a message for me in mysocialsecurity. Obviously, I can’t retrieve the message when my problem is that I have been locked out!

Isn’t there some way to unlock my account and let me log in again?

    Thank you!

    • A.C.

Hi, Julia. Unfortunately, you must have a U.S. mailing address to access your online account. Since you are living outside of the U.S. you can contact your local Federal Benefits Unit for any assistance related to Social Security benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this helps.

How do I reach someone to make sure my past payment to United Health care is not deducted from my social security as I have gone Atnea Medicare Advantage with no premiums? Mildred Royal 407501690

    • L.A.

Hi Mildred. Please contact Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 (TTY 1-877-486-2048) or contact your insurance company. You should also contact your local Medicare SHIP (State Health Insurance Program Coordinator) to discuss your health insurance options. We hope this helps.

Website not accepting the one-time reset code texted to me. I also requested one be sent by email. That one also was not accepted as a valid security code. I also have one sent to me by regular mail. That one also was not accepted. Why? How do I received a valid reset code?

I have been trying for several months to get my password reset. I have received 4 different codes and every one of them says that the code is expired even though I try to enter them the same day I get them. Recently I received a letter with an all numeric number that says it is a reset code. I looked everywhere for a box that says “reset code” but there isn’t one.
What am I doing wrong? This is very frustrating.

After visiting my local SS office I was shocked to learn that Equifax was running the SS web site. Due to the Equifax Data breach which included more than 147 million people and myself I had to put a lock on all three credit companies to protect myself, and was informed that is why I was not able to establish an online account.
Why reward this company with a contract when they do not protect the public?
    Thank you in advance
