I am turning 62 on 10/9/25. My intentions were to draw social security retirement benefits as soon as possible. My understanding was that my benefit payment would be delayed 1 month. So given an October birthday, I would expect to receive my first benefit payment in November. This was confirmed during the application process by the SSA online system. Unfortunately, I apparently won’t receive my first benefit payment until December, not November. I am disappointed. Furthermore, SSA staffers are of no help. They informed me that congress has instructed them not to provide guidance on what to do on anything. Even though they could point you in the right direction to solve your problem, they won’t due to this directive. I searched the SSA website to see if I could email commissioner Frank Bisignano and provide him with feedback to improve the process to no avail. I invite commissioner Bisignano to contact me. My contact information is available on my account at the SSA.

To whom it may concern, nobody will probably read this because nobody has a real concern in this country for senior citizens. Apparently my Social Security payment has been cut. Through no fault of my own. I’ve been in touch with our local Social Security office and finally got an appointment to go up there and straighten this out. But I get a letter today saying my benefits have been cut in half before I even get a chance to talk to somebody about this in person. The representative who I was speaking to up there in the Kennesaw office did nothing for me, but threatened me. Someone needs to call me and take care of this. I have an appointment up in the Kennesaw office next week and I’m gonna show up there with my paperwork that I need to have in hand. And someone needs to take care of this. This is just outrageous.

Scanning through these comments and leaving comments myself that have not been answered, it’s apparent that the Social Security System is very broken. This is obviously a bogus forum and a waste of time. Social Security leadership should be ashamed of this department’s brokenness, inept and uncaring staff, and lack of response to the people who are respectfully bringing important issues to light and are being ignored.
If anyone else who has left a comment here has found a way to resolve their issue through any other channels, please share so others can take the same route.

To Mr. Frank J. Bisignano
I have two requests.1. I make less than one thousand dollars a month on Social Security. I’ve worked my entire life and always thought I would at least be able to support myself when I retired. Instead I must live with my sister and we have to pool our money just to get by. We need a raise.
2. The death benefit for burial is as you know is $255.00. That won’t even cremate a person. Please raise it to at least $10,000.00. That is a very minimal burial.
Thank you,
Saundra Madden

Perhaps contacting an attorney who represents Social Security benefits will get claims moving quicker. There is no excuse even with severe staffing shortages.

I signed up for Medicare Part A when I turned 65. I am still working and insurance is covered by my employer. Now that I am 69, I want to retire in January 2026 and need to sign up for Medicare Part B before then. I am working with an insurance broker who strongly urged me to make an in-person appointment at the local Social Security office to sign up for Part B because doing so online can take longer with little communication about status. I have called the local Social Security office in Oregon City Oregon (West Linn field office) several times to make the appointment, but the hold times have been 60-70-80 minutes or more. Is there a faster way to get an in-person appointment?

To whom it may concern, I have been having great difficulty trying to get my social security benefits. I wrote to President Trump hoping it would help. My driver’s license has expired and am unable to get an I.D. or my born abroad birth certificate. DMV won’t help, and I’ve talked to SSA twice. I have no income! I served in the military and worked my whole life. What am I supposed to do? The government has my fingerprints on file. Won’t that prove who I am? This is getting so frustrating. Please help me. I may become homeless soon if I can’t get my retirement from SSA. Doesn’t anyone care?

I’m getting the run around since 7-3-25, attempting to change my address!
I have reported my update over 25 times, visited a SSI office and the information has not been changed. Now my SSI has been suspended and they have cut off my Medicare! I have attempted to find someone in this system who would take the time to think outside the box and follow up on my situation. Instead I get lied to so they can get me off the phone! I have attempted to reach Frank Bisignano, Chief of SSI, with no results. I have filed 3 reports with the Inspector General! They are not doing there jobs, and they obviously don’t have the proper training to do so! I was directed to make an appointment for SSI office by Stanley Robinson, he informed me I could get my 7-3-25 check sooner if I physically went into an office. During my appointment on 8-1-25 I was informed that wasn’t true! Lies and the runaround. I’m 70 years old, I can’t afford to live without the money I paid into my entire working life. Someone please help me 😢.

Dear Sir,
I’m been trying to get my ssi/disability for years. I have 3 different doctors and they all stated that they will never clear me for gainful employment ever again due to my disabilities. The judges just ignored my doctors. Do I need to take my case to a higher court, or can we make some progress here?
