Reading Time: 1 MinuteLast Updated: February 21, 2023
All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.
Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

Hey! There’s a lot of good American People on here and I would think that most of us if not all are seniors and I think for starters we can at least tell each other where we are from like maybe just the state where we were born. Anyway, it couldn’t hurt to be kind and see what help that we could provide during this battle we are having against the Corona Virus Out Break! BTW I’m from IDAHO!

I agree, I was born in 1854, and died in the civil war, I am posting from the other side, all I ask is that someone send me some ice water and a fan, shoveling coal for eternity sucks. The only people who are not in my situation that are in paradise are just Popes, Nuns, and Fox News Babes. The play Tammy Wynette, Doris Day, The Weavers and Lawrence Welk music non-stop over the speakers there but down here the bands are better (Vanilla Fudge, Stepenwulf, Johnny Cash and Freddie and the Dreamers, Tiny Tim).

Good News, the media today is reporting that if you filed your tax return for 2019 and have Direct Deposit to your bank account then the stimulus money will be automatically deposited in it without you having to do anything. All other means to aquire the money vary. Finally, dispite Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats politicizing this, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

savemesteve on fox4 news last night said if you recieve any correspondence in the mail or get your money direct deposited every month then the government knows exactly who you are and where you live. You do not have to file a tax form to get it! and they will send you some kind of info in the mail letting you know how much and when. just saying. relax my good americans and god bless!!!!!

The man knows where you live, where you bank,, where you hang out at night when you told your wife you were working and where your kids go to school.

How can I appeal my Medicare Part B IRMAA premium. I understand this can only be done at your local Social Security office. But they’re all closed due to the virus. Will the 60 day deadline be waived?

You’re entitled to the $1,200 stimulus check if you’re on social security, SSI, or veterans benefits. However, here’s the problem: . The CARES act, which gives the stimulus, says you’re entitled to it, but the IRS is administering it and says you must file a tax return to get it. The IRS makes no exception for social security recipients.

How will this stimulus payment affect the Social Security benefits if at all? Will it be counted as “income” when renewing eligibility?

I am not typically required to file a tax return. Can I still receive my payment?
Yes. People who typically do not file a tax return will need to file a simple tax return to receive an economic impact payment. Low-income taxpayers, senior citizens, Social Security recipients, some veterans and individuals with disabilities who are otherwise not required to file a tax return will not owe tax.
How can I file the tax return needed to receive my economic impact payment?
IRS.gov/coronavirus will soon provide information instructing people in these groups on how to file a 2019 tax return with simple, but necessary, information including their filing status, number of dependents and direct deposit bank account information

This is not so much a reply as it is an appeal. I wish to relocate to Panama and get a “pensioner” visa there. When I supplied the retirement benefits letter available from “My Social Security”, Panama responded that to meet their qualifications the letter must contain the words, “permanent” and “lifetime” in my benefit verification letter. May I please get a benefit verification letter including these 2 words and a signature sent to my home address.
