All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

They just said in bold….Taxpayers…so what does that mean, other than the obvious. I get SSDI and Disability, I filed in 2019, and am married filed jointly, do they mean, the Adult citizens or just Taxpayers?

Looks like people need to get a life and get away from their phones and computers, someone at the beginning just asked a question and someone gave an answer and then everybody has to talk crap over it. How about just go read a book or watch TV instead of trying to find something to b**** about, it’s people like you that make life miserable.

I’ve tried to be so kind and answer questions from very worried Americans, and I would all night long, but the ones that think this is a joke is making this very hard. I don’t understand why people are making jokes about this….

I didn’t read all of the comments, way too many, but in reference to being rude and replying with a question I believe it is quite acceptable to do so. Before we ask questions to anyone we should first ask ourselves that question and think it through.
Socrates utilized an educational method that focused on discovering answers by asking questions from his students. According to Plato, Socrates believed that “the disciplined practice of thoughtful questioning enables the scholar/student to examine ideas and be able to determine the validity of those ideas”.

People please,…this is not a tax thing. This is not a stimulus check like it was when Bush and Obama sent that 300 or 600 because you filed. NO you do not have to file taxes for your Stimulus check come April. This is pres. Trump trying to get money to every american to stimulate the economy. I’ve answered this so much today but others are being so rude its being overshadowed. If you do not pay taxes…if you get SSI, SSDI, etc…. and make under 75,000 you will get a check

Are you absolutely sure about that? Too much contradictory information being thrown around in these comments because nobody really knows.

    MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:
Mnuchin confirms plan for $1,000 cash payments to all Americans…

    source: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/488412-mnuchin-americans-could-get-two-coronavirus-stimulus-checks-within-9

That’s the Secretary of the Treasury confirming that EVERY American adult will get $1000 each and every child $500. That means a family of 4: husband, wife, 2 kids gets $3000 the first payment then a month later another $3000.

I’ll believe it though when I see the check!

if we do get some sort of stimulus money, we’re giving it to the homeless.

yes its a national crisis we all will get 1000 or more depending on what they make the amount.

I just spent over an hour waiting to talk to somebody from social security and the gentleman said ..No. anyone on SSI will not get it ..you have to be working now I’m really confused do we get it or not?.. those of us on SSI get less than those of social social security disability or regular social security.. we need it also

Everyone, please…. stop the rude comments. Yes you will get a stimulus check if you ar disabled and get SSDI. This has nothing to do with filing taxes like Bush and Obama. This is money President Trump is sending to stop the recession from getting so bad. Yes everyone is getting one. Different amounts but no one is exempt. I hope this helps and takes some stress off of you. I too am a SSDI patient. It will be deposited in your bank account if your SSDI, SSI, or SSI is direct deposited.

    • Dave

Yes it well social security will deposit it in your bank account, most people on ss and ssi don’t have to do taxes because of the yearly amount they make God bless everyone keep safe and God bless America

  10. Dave

Fox news just said the Senate is considering giving 1200 hundred dollars to every adult individual and I’m.sure it includes people on ss and ssi

    • wanda w.
