“I want to provide an update to people who receive benefits from the Social Security Administration.

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced on April 1 that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 to generate $1,200 economic impact payments to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019.

Treasury, not Social Security, will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will receive these payments by direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their Social Security benefits.

For updates from the IRS, visit their web page.

Note for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients:

We are working closely with Treasury to address outstanding questions about our SSI recipients in an attempt to make the issuance of economic impact payments as quick and efficient as possible. We realize people are concerned, and the IRS will provide additional information on their web page when available. Please note that we will not consider economic impact payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.”

I can’t believe you haven’t programed the computer to issue direct deposits to us homeless people who could use the $1200 to get off the streets and buy a little protection from this fucking CCP virus. It’s been over a month now and all the people with homes have gotten their money, and protections from being evicted, but no one I see daily on the streets has seen a dime of their money. It was given to us too you know. Don’t tell me it’s complicated either because when the 1st of the month falls on a Sunday you just push a button and deposit our SSI benefits on Friday… so you don’t have to work over the weekend. I’m 70 and have inphazema so I can use all the protections I can afford, but being broke and on the streets doesn’t give me many options. Why hasn’t anything been done for a month… we would be the easiest group to take care of. I can’t help but believe it’s intentional…. I’ll see you in Hell if that’s what you’re thinking.

I hope you never get a check. You are hateful and deserve nothing.

I get both social security and ssi. When will I get my payment

      • V.V.

Hi Johnny, thank you for your question. Treasury, not Social Security, will be making automatic Economic Income Payments to eligible people. Unfortunately, we do not have information about the exact schedule for these payments. Treasury anticipates these payments to go out to Social Security retirement, survivors, and disability insurance beneficiaries starting around the end of April and to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients starting in early May. Continue to check the irs.gov/coronavirus page for updates.

When do people on SS. Receive our. Stimulus check?]

  9. George C.

To Bryan and others on here: Don’t take comments on here to heart. Its obvious that some people just have a negative personality. People on this blog are all waiting for their stimulus payments, we don’t work for the government and we don’t get paid to be on here trying to help others. So to those demanding answers, all you need to do is read past posts by clicking on the Older Comments link near the bottom left side, below the last post. The information you are asking for has been posted dozens of times already, and every possible question has been answered. Click “Older Comments”

  10. George C.

Wanda, from what I’ve been reading and seeing on news reports, SSI recipients will start receiving payments in “Early May” so start checking for it on May 1st when social security recipients get theirs. Hopefully this next round of payments helps out those that are in desperate need of the extra funds. After having to buy all kinds of disinfects and masks at four times the normal cost, and loss of income due to lack if work, we could all use the money right now. Early May, Wanda. 🙂

    • Mark A.
