A COVID-19 Update from Our Commissioner

I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.
Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

How are covid 19 bonus payments from a job counted as in regards to income when you are on disability? My husband’s job has paid a few bonuses to its employees for working during the pandemic. Is thos money figured as part of his working earnings? We are trying to figure out if he went over the SGA one month when he was paid a covid bonus.

This is my first time to the comments page. There are numerous comments and questions but only 2 replies from the SSA. I searched for replies to questions I was interested in learning the answers to however it doesn’t appear they were answered/commented on. Were there any replies? Please tell me someone reached out to those persons in their quest for assistance.

I received a call on my home phone from an “unavailable” number claiming to be from SS. then another on my cell. The women claimed to be processing my claim and was from an office not in my state. do other offices handle claims throughout the country? I did not give any personal info but still wonder if i can trust that call. I have called my local office twice only to be disconnected while on hold. Any help would surely be appreciated.

Recently, scams—misleading victims into making cash or gift card payments to avoid arrest for Social Security number problems—have skyrocketed. Our employees will never threaten you for information or promise a benefit in exchange for personal information or money. Because you have recently applied, you should call us at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance or you can contact your local Social Security office. I am being denied access to my scocial security portal. Yet I leep getting email claiming I opted out of getting mailed documents. So, I am being denied a right to any information whatsoever about my account. I requested mail ONLY, but somehow the opt out keeps reoccurring and when I try to get in I am being locked out. What should I do?I need my documents?
Also, should 141.00+ a month be coming out of my SSA check during the pamdemic?

Social Security has Deducted Medicare from my monthly payments . Then kept the money and cancelled my Medicare. Proof is in my payment history. Now during this Pandemic I have no insurance. Local office has refused to fix it after saying they will during every phone call.
After many complaints I I mysteriously receive a refund check for one month. When Medicare was deducted every month.

Need clarification press release 2021 SSI benefits do not match 1.3% increase instead the increased is base 1.45% $783.00 to 794.00.

My first social security check was on the 8th of the month starting in July. Why are the days in which I receive my payment changing This month I will not get my check until the 14th.
I thought I would be getting my payment on the same day each month?

Date of Birth Payment Day:
1st through 10th Second Wednesday
11th through 20th Third Wednesday
21st through 31st Fourth Wednesday
Go to Schedule of Social Security Payments for the current payment dates.

Hi I am looking for the connection in-regards to the Covaid-19 stimulus checks to everyone. wee have not received our checks as of to day. My husband and myself are both on social security with no other income.
